60 Group painting fails that will have you cracking up

Have you ever been to one of those “Sip and Paint” classes where you drink wine and do your best to paint a masterpiece on a canvas? Or maybe you remember being in art class and having to replicate a famous painting? Well, if you’re not really the artistic type…these classes can lead to some pretty hilarious results. Need proof? Keep reading.

Here are 33 hilarious group painting class fails.

Hey, all of these people definitely get an A+ for effort and a sense of humor.

1) Pet portraits

In this painting class, they were painting pet portraits. The girl’s painting on the left is really quite lovely. And on the right? Amazing! Superhero Cat in the clouds for the win.

2) Keeping things simple

This class was instructed to paint some bar glasses and a shaker. However, the girl on the far right just went with what she knew – circles.

3) The protesting artist

Was this guy dragged to this painting class with his wife or something? Because he doesn’t seem super excited to be there. So, he showed everyone how he truly felt.

4) Loch Ness in the city

This isn’t exactly a painting fail. In fact, it really could be more of a win. The person’s painting on top had a little something extra – the Loch Ness Monster.

5) Just add dragons

Here’s another person who decided to take their painting to the next level. This time, it’s with dragons breathing fire through the sky setting one of the hot air balloons on fire.

6) Took a dark turn

Instead of painting the bright and happy nature setting on the right that was supposed to be painted, this guy created a scary and dark post-apocalyptic world.

7) An interesting take

We’re not sure if this person maybe had just a little too much wine during the class or what, but this painting took quite the interesting turn. Why is it so angry?

8) The rebels in the front row

This class was supposed to paint a night, starry sky but it looks like the two people in the front row were in their own worlds. We’re not sure what happened there.

9) Squid pig?

This person’s painting of the birds in the tree is actually quite good. But then…they throw the whole thing off with a strange squid pig flying by.

10) Only slightly terrifying

During this group painting class, this guy took the liberty to paint a scary roaring gorilla man instead of the calming sunset scene.

11) She saw a slightly different vision for her painting

This girl took a *ahem* naughty turn with her painting. Instead of the silhouettes of buildings, she chose…well…something else.

12) Is that a UFO?

There’s always one person in the class that has to go rogue. In this case, the person second from the right saw something entirely different than the rest of the students.

13) Sending the bat signal

Most of the class did a great job painting the nighttime scene with the tree in the foreground. Then you have the guy in the back row who painted the bat signal. We like that guy.

14) Olaf gone wrong

Kids love the movie Frozen and these kiddos got to paint Olaf the snowman in class. We’re not sure if the kid in the front messed up and just said “screw it” or what – but it’s hilarious.

15) Another call for Batman

Here’s another incident where a person incorporated the bat signal in their painting. Like this guy on the right who replaced the moon with the call for the hero of Gotham.

16) This naughty artist

And here we have another incident where a girl decided to take a naughty turn with her painting. Not quite the Eiffel Tower…

17) So many minds in the gutter

Well, it looks like drawing penises on your canvas is quite the common occurrence. Because we have another painting that has them as their main feature.

18) Nailed it

His girlfriend did a great job of painting her cherry blossom tree but the boyfriend? Not so much. Nice try, though.

19) More sea creatures

Here’s another person that replaced the flowers with an octopus. We can appreciate someone who thinks outside of the box.

20) What are we looking at here?

It looks like her painting on the right has a canoe in the water but his? What is that? A snake? A bird? We’re not sure.

21) Everything was fine until…

What’s interesting here is that the painting below is actually really good…until…you know…the extra characters were added.

22) She almost had it

Everyone painted wine being poured into a glass. The lady in the middle of the photo tried…but couldn’t quite pull it off. We applaud her efforts.

23) Nerdist?

This painter diverted and went in a completely different direction here. Not entirely sure what it means but…okay!

Folks, we have yet another artistic rebel on our hands. Whatever this means, he seems to feel pretty smug about it.

25) Dragon takeover

Aww, how nice. A bridge silhouette during twilight. Oh wait…that guy’s bridge is being destroyed by a dragon crawling out of the river.

26) Bird with a nasty habit

“Went to “Brews and Bristles” painting class. I think I nailed it,” shared this Reddit user.

27) This is just plain cute

“My 4-year old, 7-year old, and I took a bob ross class today. nailed it,” posted this Imgur user.

28) Pirates in the night

This amateur painter did a pretty good job at paint class, we’d say. And we do love the creativity they added with the pirate ship.

29) Why not?

At this point, we’re not surprised by what people come up with during painting classes. Some people just choose to completely disregard the class instructions and march to the beat of their own drum.

30) Purple it is

This woman did a really good job on her painting, she just didn’t want to be so happy and chipper with her bright colors. Instead, she went for a darker purple.

31) Emoji painting

Everyone else in the class painted a floral scene on their canvas. But not the guy in the front. Not even close.

32) What happened to Winnie the Pooh?

This person tried to paint Winnie the Pooh with…interesting results. Valiant effort, though.
