Dogs are great for many reasons: they are loyal, friendly, compassionate, fun, and so much more. But who knew that dogs could be such great workers as well? These animals really can seem to do it all. So if you love dogs for all of their many talents (especially their workmanship) then check out these pics of dogs doing work… and looking adorable while they do it.
1. Ducks in a row.
Meet Jade. She’s a 12-year-old pup that doesn’t let her age get in her way. Here she is rounding up all the ducks on the farm–something that she’s been doing for years.
2. The cone of shame.
This is Chip and Pepper. Chip is the lamb wearing the cone of shame around his neck because he kept getting his head stuck in the fence. And Pepper is the dog making sure that the camera-person can get a good shot of him.
3. River.
This beautiful dog is named River. He is training to be service dog and will accompany his owner to college next year. Good boy, River.
4. Water rescuer.
This big, handsome guy is training to become a water rescuer. He’s only one-year-old and already he is making great progress. He also looks awesome in a pair of goggles.
5. Ruby.
Ruby is a certified therapy dog. She comes to universities to help out with various patients. She’s got the right look for college.
6. Tucker.
Tucker has the job that every dog wants: deer chaser. His owners claim that he saves their vineyard $10,000 a year by keeping the deer from eating the grapes. Well done, Tuck.
7. Christmas card.
Getting that perfect shot for the Christmas card is always a challenge. But this year, one family nailed it. Nothing says “happy holidays” like animals in costumes.
8. Enzo.
This awesome-looking pup is named Enzo. He comes to work with his owner who is a dentist. Enzo sits in the waiting room and keeps everyone company while they wait for their turn.
9. Watson.
Meet Watson. He works at the zoo and has been doing so for the last 6 years. His main duty is to comfort the children who accidentally get hurt while visiting the animals.
10. Panda love.
This service dog is already lucky that he gets to go into all of the stores that most dogs aren’t allowed in. BUt he decided to take it one step further. He grabbed himself a gift for being such a good boy.
11. Dakota
This is Dakota and she has a very special job. She is in charge of alerting her diabetic owner if her blood sugar is starting to rise. Talk about a high-stakes position.
12. ATM gaurd.
Who needs armed guards to watch over the ATMs when you’ve a got an adorable dog to do it. No sensible person would steal from such a cute animal. And by the looks of her, she could probably handle some business if needed.
13. Rescue dog.
Being lost in the woods can be a scary thing. And there is nothing more satisfying than that moment when you realize that you are saved. This lucky guy was able to catch his rescue dog on camera.
14. Working hard.
This dog earned herself a new bed. After her owner recieved her first paycheck from the job that these two got together, she decided that she ought to get her pup a new bed. Thanks for working hard, dog. You earned it.
15. The tremor tamer.
This good boy helps out his owner who has Parkinson’s disease. He lays his head on what every part of her body is having the worst tremors. And get this, no one taught him to do it.
16. Bonzo.
This is Bonzo the sled dog. He has run over 10,000 miles during his career. This photo was snapped on his last sled run ever.
17. Detective dogs.
Welcome to the retirement party for a couple of detective dogs. The two in the middle will be retiring while the two on the outside with be replacing them. Go get ’em pups.
18. Georgia.
This is Georgia. She is a service dog that helps people who are suffering from PTSD. She is also a mother and will be giving birth to future service dogs soon.
19. Office dog.
This guy comes to work with his owner everyday. And now that he’s been able to meet everyone, he’s finally received his official job title: Chief Morale Officer. Thank you for your service, dog.
20. Sled dog.
This tired girl is taking a break after a long day on the job. She is in charge of leading all ten dogs on the sled as well as the humans. Enjoy your break, girl. You earned it.
21. Elvis.
This is Elvis and he may have the wierdest job that I’ve ever heard of. He detects polar bear pregnancy through his sense of smell. There really is a job for everything.
22. Harley.
Harley is retired but he isn’t too happy about it. As you can see, all he wants to do is go back to work. If the dog wants to work, then I say let him.
23. Bill.
Bill is a medical alert dog and he works for his owner in Australia. His job is very important and I think that he knows it. I have complete faith in this cute pup.
24. Rhu.
This is Rhu. Rhu finds Oregon black truffles. These truffles usually weigh an average of 1 to 2 ounces, but Rhu found himself a solid 7 ouncer.
25. Benny.
Meet Benny. He is a therapy dog at a middle school. Unfortunately, Benny had to retire due to his health.
26. Life-saver.
This dog is a natural-born life-saver. He heard is owner laughing and thought that he was having a coughing fit. So he went and got his owner’s inhaler and brought it to him.
27. Cookie dog.
Alright, I know that these are just a bunch of cookies but I thought that it paid a nice tribute the work that we’ve been seeing from these dogs. Also, I think that these cookies look delicious.
28. Rest time.
This dog just earned himself a rest after helping to round up over 150 sheep. That’s a tough job for anyone, let alone a dog. Way to go, buddy.
29. Russian police dog.
Most dogs that you see on the force are big and intimidating. But not this little guy. He is Russia’s only K9 Unit Corgi Ginger.
30. Co-workers.
Meet Adele and Baker. Adele is on the right and is an ex-assistance dog. Baker is on the left and is training to be a police dog.
31. Big harness to fill.
This cute little guys is an aspiring service dog. He already looks the part. Now he just needs to gain a few pounds.
32. Bird hunter.
This bird-hunting dog is sighting his target before heading back out into the water. Based on that look of confidence, I’d say he’s done this before. Look out birds, this pup’s coming for you.
