We as humans are all unique and different. Each with our own personalities and quirks. But, in reality – we’re all pretty darn similar. And one of our similarities happens to be deep thought. But sometimes – our deep thoughts turn into random thoughts. Or maybe even weird thoughts. And the funny part? Most of us have all had the same ones.
Whether you want to admit it, we’ve definitely all thought these 30 odd, random, and sometimes slightly insane thoughts at least once in our lives.
It’s okay if you don’t want to admit it. We all know you’re just fooling yourself.
1) Why do we always feel guilty?
Everyone knows what it feels like to go through airport security and feel like you might have something illegal on you. Even though you also know that’s literally impossible.
2) That took a dark turn
“This puppy is tiny. I wish I could crush it with my fist.” Oh my goodness! We know, we know how terrible this thought is! But why is that we want to crush cute things? It’s weird.
3) Why do parents do that?
When it comes to babies and toddlers, parents seem to want to say their age in months for a very long time. After 11 months, it just becomes a year, people.
4) What’s up with that?
Have you ever been taking a shower and just think up the most random thought ever? Like this one, for example. But it’s so true.
5) The pretend double-check
We’re certainly not condoning this super rude movie theater etiquette but we know there are people out there who can relate to this. Shame on you.
6) I swear I’m not a psychopath
“I would never murder anyone, but if I did, here’s how I’d do it…” Why is it that we sometimes have the most morbid and psychopathic thoughts that cross our minds?
7) Or whatever other guilty pleasure you have
You know when you’re walking down the street, wearing your headphones, cruising to your own soundtrack, and people seem to be looking at you? Is that because they know you’re listening to that?
8) Can I really trust anyone?
“Maybe Gmail was lying and that email didn’t actually send.” Have you ever found yourself paranoid of the weirdest things? Yeah, we all have.
9) We like to torture ourselves
For some reason, those 3 minutes extra in the morning are worth the price of gold. Even though that’s just absolutely ridiculous when you think about it.
10) I’m not a mean person, though
Most humans really don’t want to upset people or be mean to other people. So, why is it that we have strange thoughts like this that creep into our brains?
11) Oh, yeah. I know every word.
“You hear that rap song playing on the radio right now? I watched a lyric video of that song on YouTube every night for a month before I went to bed… just so I would able to casually perform it at a time like this.” We’ve all done it.
12) The anxiety of today
“She’s mad at me because I took too long to text back, I just know it!” For some reason, we feel the need to have to respond to people right away these days. And sometimes? It causes us extreme anxiety.
13) No, I heard it.
We’ve all had that knee-jerk reaction to asking “huh?” after a question just because we need just a little bit more time to take it all in.
14) The urge is too real
Humans are so strange sometimes. We have these crazy thoughts that shoot through our minds in the most inopportune times.
15) It’ll be a lifelong process
“I just wrote a 10-page research paper, but my teacher will never know I still have to Google things like: ‘affect vs. effect,’ and if ‘ice cream’ is one or two words.” Some things will just never stick – and it happens to all of us.
16) More unwarranted paranoia
“What if my neighbors can hear what I watch on Netflix?” Do you ever wonder if you’re being eavesdropped on in your own apartment? We know our neighbors probably have better things to do but…what if, though?
17) And the 70s were just 30 years ago
Depending on your age, so many of us still endearingly look back at 2007 as if it was just a few years ago. Nope. It’s been almost 13 years, guys.
18) Oh, yeah! It was so good!
Don’t lie, there’s been a time where someone was talking about the latest cool movie in theaters and you pretended like you watched it.
19) Freak out moment!
“Did I leave something out in the apartment that the cat could eat and die from?!” If you’re a pet owner, you’ve definitely had this thought a time or two.
20) It’s cool, I don’t have a forklift
I think 90% of people’s brains automatically go to heavy-duty construction machinery for some odd reason. But, they most definitely mean cars.
21) What? Is that weird?
Don’t ask us why these random, strange thoughts come into our brains! We can’t explain any of it. Just find peace in knowing you’re not alone.
22) *immediately starts sweating*
“My boss called but didn’t leave a voicemail. I guess I must be fired.” Because that’s the first most logical thought you should have.
23) All of us do this
For some reason, when we’re lost or we’re trying to park a car, we need every single one of our senses. And that includes our sense of hearing, apparently.
24) But, not really.
It’s okay. Once again, we know you’re not a psychopath. This is a safe space and we’ve all thought it once or twice.
25) They all hate me, don’t they?
“I’m taking way too long to tell this story, aren’t I?” Have you ever been telling a story and then halfway through you feel like everyone is wishing you’d hurry up? That’s the worst.
26) Being human is hard
Getting up to hop in the shower might be one of the most difficult things ever. But once you’re in? It’s like heaven on earth and you wonder why you don’t just stay forever.
27) Why, brain?! Why?!
“What if I just threw myself in front of this bus?” Random suicidal thoughts like this can sometimes creep into our thoughts and it’s so weird when they do. Why do we do that?
28) No one is innocent of this
There’s really no reason to lie about this one. We know you’ve done it. Because we all have. Just don’t do it in the pool, okay?
29) Makes sense
Are you a procrastinator? Then this train of thought is all too familiar to you. I mean, the logic here is amazing.
30) An overwhelming sense of sudden fear
It could be your birth certificate. You social security card. Or maybe it’s the receipt to that sweater you bought two weeks ago. Sometimes our brains just go on full alert over the strangest things.
Take a deep breath and relax. Now you know that you’re not the only weirdo out there. We all are!
