Have you ever experienced something weird but chose not to talk about it? There can be a lot of reasons for this. It’s either you forgot about it, too embarrassed to admit that you experienced it or you simply didn’t feel the need to share it with anyone.
Whatever your reason may be, we have compiled 30 things that people experience but don’t really talk about. We’re sure you’ll be able to relate to some of these experiences, even if you won’t tell us about it!
1. Just gettin’ my money’s worth
Sure, probably it’s going to be all drank up well before the expiration date anyhow, the the feeling is good when we know we’ve gotten it as fresh as possible.
2. Elevator ninja
We are all guilty of this at one point in our lives. Some even do this intentionally when the person trying to reach the elevator in time is the colleague that everybody loves to hate.
3. Underwear over-packing
It’s hard to admit this but, you know what? A lot of people actually do this! It’s not just practical, it also offers some sort of security knowing that you’re ready, just in case.
4. MS Word Catastrophe
Anybody who uses Microsoft Word can relate to this frustrating experience. You just wanted to make you perfectly sized image and you end up having a ruined format just because you were going after excellence in your job!
5. When you ask and don’t listen for the answer
Let’s just admit that we are all guilty of this at times. It’s not just when asking for someone’s name. It’s when you ask for something and you totally forgot to listen to the answer and you had to ask again!
6. Pre-annoyed
This is quite true, especially if the person who’s about to talk to you is someone you secretly hate. You simply get annoyed even before they open their mouth to speak!
7. Apologies, car
That guilty feeling you get for bringing giving your car another dent or scratch. You know it’s not a living thing, but you still apologize anyway because you’ve grown attached to your car and damaging it just hurts your feelings, too.
8. Would you like a receipt?
When servers ask this question, can you really say that you answer them with the same reply over and over again? Maybe you’re like this guy who happens to just answer based on nothing at all.
9. A minute of exercise
A minute is only composed of 60 seconds, which seems too short, really. But if you exercise in that full minute, that could mean 20 sit-ups plus 20 push-ups plus 20 knee-ups! A minute is not too short now, huh.
10. Hiding facial expressions
It is so hard so hide our reactions sometimes, especially when the reason for it is so sudden that you barely have time to think about hiding what you truly feel! And then, the moment passes and you immediately bring your poker face back on, afraid to offend anybody with your sudden emotional display.
11. Another 3 minutes
Waking up in the morning is not something that everyone is good at. For people who don’t consider themselves as morning persons, three more minutes before their alarm is enough to make them fall back to bed and snore for another 180 seconds.
12. 3 years ago
It’s 2019 now, but most people still get confused about the 2000’s and the 2010’s. They think of 2007 as only two years back until they realize that it’s actually 12 years back and it two years ago was 2017. It’s like a trick that passes by quickly. This woman can’t stop thinking if in 2020, people will still think of the years this way or move on because it is a new decade already!
13. Alarms with 5-minute intervals
This is another habit that is surprisingly common among people, especially students. Adding more alarms is creating more chances of waking up on time, instead of just relying on a single alarm that you might not hear at all!
14. Staring at the wall every morning
Not everybody is a morning person who starts their day early and with a good amount of energy. For most people, mornings are composed of consecutive episodes of staring at the wall and thinking about absolutely nothing until you realize that you’re almost late and left with only a few minutes to prepare.
15. Zoning out but too lazy to zone back in
At first, you would think that you are the only person who does this until you realize that a lot of people are actually zoning out from time to time and some of them purposely stay zoned out because they are too lazy to wake themselves up from it! I don’t know, it just feels nice to think of nothing in particular for a moment and when you zone back in, it’s like you’ve rebooted and you’re ready to take in information again.
16. The worst part about online shopping
Online shopping is already a very convenient way to shop. No need to drive to the shops, no need to stand for a long time to pay in line and no need to scrutinize every single product on the aisle just to realize that you’ve gone to the wrong store. Apparently, no matter how convenient online shopping is, you still can’t fight the feeling of tiredness when all you have to do is get up and grab your card so you could pay online!
17. 4 minutes to the store? Let me create my playlist first.
You know that creating your playlist before a drive takes more than just a few minutes. But still, you want to make sure that your music is ready before driving the short ride to the grocery store. The time you spent finding your playlist is even longer than your actual drive!
18. You always imagine forklifts
Sometimes, even if we don’t own forklifts, we can’t help but picture ourselves driving them when the doctor tells us to refrain from operating machinery. Of course, when the doctor advises a patient of this, that would mean refraining from driving cars, unless that patient is a machine operator by profession.
19. When you know it’s just a jacket but you get scared anyway
I am personally guilty of this experience. It’s when you perfectly know it’s a jacket because you’re the one who put it there, but you still want to make sure it’s not a headless creature and you squint your eyes so hard just to see better instead of sleeping or simply turning the light on.
20. Amazon’s suggestions are forever
For everybody who is not aware of this, Amazon has an algorithm that automatically suggests things for you to buy based on what you’ve searched in the past. So you better be careful of what you search for because Amazon does not forget that easily.
21. Washing the dishes means getting wet on your tummy area
It’s like a proof that you did your best in washing the dishes to the point that you did not even care if you got wet on your tummy area. Of course, you know this has no basis at all but you still consider it anyway.
22. Say OK
Some people just can’t get on with their lives without a simple confirmation like “Okay” from others. There’s this nagging feeling that if nobody says “okay” then you’re not getting a sign that you can already go out. Most of the time, these are also the people who reply with “okay” even if you just said something that does not need any response at all.
23. I’m checking my eternally silent phone if it’s silent, just to be sure
Have you ever experienced something like this? It’s like you’re already sure about something but just because everyone is doing it, you still go and check if you’re right even if you are 100% sure that you are.
24. Every.Time.
It’s almost like the servers are just watching and waiting for you to stuff your mouth and then they pop out of nowhere suddenly wanting to know how you are doing.
25. Sudden bursts of worries
All people actually experience this. It’s like when you are in a big celebration and having a lot of fun then you suddenly remember about something that you needed to buy or whatever. You worry for a bit then return to the present. It’s perfectly normal, believe me.
26. This unfortunate accident
What’s funny about this kind of accident is that you usually experience it without anybody seeing you. And then, you simply move on and forget about what just happened, until it happens again! The mini-heart attack you experience because of it is definitely not funny, though.
27. When your prayers get answered
In those milliseconds that pass before you actually see the time, you secretly pray that it is not time to get off of the bed yet. And when you realize that you woke up too early, you feel a short high before you fall back to sleep again.
28. This annoying feeling
It’s not a good feeling when you know you’re disturbing the classroom peacefulness with your incessant coughing. However, no matter how much you try to hold it in, you simply can’t stop it when another bout of coughing threatens to come along! It’s so annoying, isn’t it?
29. When you realize that leaving your to-go meal is harder than a break-up
For most people, food is definitely synonymous to life and not being able to get their fair share of it is an incredibly serious matter. If you ask these foodies which is more difficult, a break-up or leaving your to-go meal in the restaurant, you’ll surely get an answer that’s not about break-up at all.
30. When you’re in a bad mood
A bad mood makes everything around you negative. You simply feel like everything that’s happening is out to get you and increase the madness that has already piled up since your day started. When this happens, just breathe, relax and see the positive things. Your bad mood will surely fade and you won’t even notice that your dress got caught in the door handle again today.
Everyday, we experience tons of different situations and emotions. Maybe, we don’t talk about some of them but that does not mean that they are unusual and that we are weird for only noticing those experience in ourselves.
You will surely be surprised with the number of people who gets to experience all these seemingly unusual things and just like you, they feel like they are different when in fact, we are all having the same kinds of occurrences after all.
