Being a soldier is tough. Apart from being away from their families, soldiers also have to risk their lives just to keep everyone in the country safe. They have to miss important family celebrations and even their children’s milestones. At times, they may need to stop talking to their loved ones while they are away for deployment.
Despite that, our soldiers are still able to see the positive side of things. They are able to cope with their situations by relying on their fellow soldiers and their awesome sense of humor.
This collection perfectly highlights what soldiers do to have fun during their days off.
1. Taking awesome photos
This soldier doesn’t just know how to have fun. Based on this photo, he’s quite good at at taking photos, too.
2. Having each other’s back
Protecting each other and having each other’s back doesn’t only apply to wars. It’s also applicable during their free time when they want to have fun.
3. A little game
There’s probably nothing better than playing some competitive games during one’s day off. It’s not just a way to have fun, but it can also serve as an exciting way to work those muscles and teamwork.
4. In Afghanistan
A loved one was worried about how his cousin was doing in Afghanistan. This was the photo she received. It’s safe to say that this soldier is looking good on his deployment.
5. Being resourceful
Soldiers celebrate Christmas, too. However, since they don’t have the usual holiday decorations, they have to be resourceful. Looking at this Christmas tree, I’d say that they nailed it.
6. When your group is a Bieber fan
This group has an awesome sense of humor. Who would have thought that they’re loyal Justin Bieber fans?
7. Testing the new pants
This soldier tried testing the new fire-resistant
pants. Looking at his reaction, I don’t think it was what he expected.
8. A friendly race
Soldiers are quite competitive. Even if it’s just a game, they’ll still give their best.
9. Showing affection
This is one way to show affection without running the risk of getting infected. And yes, it looks extremely awkward.
10. Human missiles
I know soldiers are brave. I just didn’t expect them to be this brave. Most people would find the idea of getting inside that machine intimidating.
11. What being a team means
One watches over the area while the other one irons out uniforms. That’s teamwork.
12. Bubbles and more bubbles
Kids aren’t the only ones who enjoy blowing out bubbles. It’s a fun activity even for soldiers.
13. That tiny area
I’m not sure if that soldier was able to spot that tiny area of grass. It’s just nearly the size of his foot.
14. Multiple guns
If you’ve seen figures of Hindu deities, you’d agree that this team nailed the look. Those guns replicate the deities’ hands.
15. Harry Potter inspired
I’m not sure how these two soldiers were able to do this. Whether it’s a trick or just excellent photo editing skills, they’ve done an awesome job. Harry Potter fans must be proud of them.
16. A huge trap
I know soldiers can make traps really well. Despite that, seeing them make a mousetrap this size is still quite impressive.
17. At the park
Who wouldn’t have fun at the park? Even soldiers know that it’s the best place to have fun.
18. Something’s not right
I guess this soldier is just channeling his dream of becoming an archer. The way he’s holding his gun, I’d say that he’s got the basic form right.
19. Fun!
He’s having a great time, no doubt about that. The way he’s stretching out his arms and the way he’s smiling, he’s clearly enjoying that ride down the staircase.
20. Robots
It must be fun to see robots and soldiers working together. It’s like an epic scene from an action movie. This, however, looks like a scene from a kid’s movie.
21. Perfect camouflage
Apparently, a soldier’s uniform isn’t just easy to conceal in the wild. It also offers an excellent way to become invisible on the sofa.
22. That unicorn
I guess unicorns somehow change in form when they are deployed. This one has a different color and lacks magical powers.
23. Practicing
Poor animal. I hope that soldier wasn’t putting all of his weight on its back. It looks little for him.
24. Partners
Dogs are excellent partners for soldiers because of they of their loyalty and ability to trust. They will do anything for their partners, including acting silly for the camera.
25. Just a can of soda
Sodas can provide an instant boost in energy because of their sugar content. And as it turns out, they can also provide happiness. Just look at that smile!
26. Those pink shoes
Who would have thought that soldiers would look good on pink shoes? And who would have thought that they’d be proud and happy to be seen wearing them? I have never seen happier soldiers than this group.
27. Just trying to fly
No matter how serious the situation is, soldiers always find a way to have fun. This one, for example, was demonstrating how he can make himself fly with that cape.
28. Comedy
This could pass as a comedy skit. It’s both creative and funny. If they could turn this into a video, it’d definitely be funnier.
29. When you’re trying to hide
On your days off, you prefer to hide away and not be seen by both the enemies and your comrades. Unfortunately for this soldier, that animal has an excellent sense of recognition.
30. A different way of using the toilet
We all know that soldiers are strong. I just didn’t know that they can actually pee like this.
