Now that we live in the era of constant selfies, people have gotten really good at taking their own photo. A good pose with an awesome filter and you’re ready to throw it up on Instagram with your favorite hashtags.

Sometimes though — it’s good to have a reality check and show that those picture-perfect Instagram photos are still real people. Real people, with a really great sense of humor.

Back in 2011, a Tumblr was started called Pretty Girls Making Ugly Faces (yes, there’s one for guys too), which then turned into a subreddit. Since then, girs have been sending in hilarious photos of them making “ugly” faces.

These are 30 of the best — get ready for a good laugh.

It’s always nice when people don’t take themselves too seriously.
