Traveling is amazing, but it’s the actual process of traveling that’s never any fun. Waiting in lines and wasting time in airports, sitting on a cramped plane with recycled air, then waiting for baggage — it can be pretty miserable. However, when you’re greeted by family and the ones you love, all of that stress just melts away — or so you’d hope.

After a long stint away, you might be greeted with endearing handwritten signs or flowers — that is, unless you belong to any of these families or circles of friends. They decided to take things to the next level.

The friends and families who put together the signs below all deserve an A+ for creativity.

From embarrassing dads and husbands to adorable kids, these families definitely have a great sense of humor — a wonderful thing to come home to.

1. What all the people in the airport didn’t know — she wasn’t in prison. She was returning home from a trip.
