Life is a bit of a mystery really, and so is death. What happens after we leave this earth? Did we feel anything before we were born, things that we’ve simply forgotten about? With all of these questions, you think we’d turn to a scientist- or maybe even a priest. But surprisingly, it’s the children who are coming through with the answers.
From kids recounting stories of their parents from a past life, to some apparently seeing things in the room that aren’t visible to the rest of us, kids seem to have an eye for the supernatural that could give us the answers we’re looking for. Here are 30 chilling supernatural kid’s stories to send shivers down your spine, if you dare to read them.
1. The Polish nursery rhyme
This little boy felt a clear connection with his great-grandmother, despite him never having met her on earth. Is this evidence that there is a heaven? We’d like to think so.
2. “That old chestnut”
Umm, someone needs to point out to this little girl that she is still a girl. Maybe she’s simply quoting something off the TV, or maybe this is indeed her second life. Or her third, her fourth, or her fifth…
3. A creepy ghost sighting
What would your reaction be if your child said this to you? Personally, we would get out of that cemetery as fast as our legs could carry us. Talk about creepy!
4. 3rd time’s a charm
Aside from feeling totally creeped out that our daughter had already managed to have two moms before us, admittedly we’d feel just a little proud that we were the best. That shows you must have been doing something right. Even if the whole thing is pretty eerie.
5. The woods demand a sacrifice
Children are certainly not the right candidates for watching horror films, so we’re wondering where on earth this 7-year-old picked up words like “sacrifice” from. We bet his mom never returned to those woods after that interesting statement. How creepy!
6. How did he know it was there?
When we first started reading this tweet, we just thought, “Ahh, there’s nothing strange about this. It’s just a little kid with a big imagination.” But then we read about the part where he directed his family to the house, and we suddenly got chills. That’s surely too much of a coincidence to not be true…
7. “Your brother saved my life”
There are many theories about what happens after death, and some people believe that we’re simply born again into another body. If that theory is correct, then this little boy might actually be telling the truth! We wonder how the paediatrician replied to that statement?
8. “You’re going to hit the little girl!”
The creepiest thing about this story is that the little boy can describe the girl in perfect detail. Is a two-year-old’s imagination really that advanced? Or can he truly see something that we can’t…
9. Pregnancy predictions
It’s pretty offensive for someone to assume you’re pregnant when you’re not- but in this woman’s situation, she was pregnant- but she wasn’t showing yet! Despite her not having told anyone, the little girl was able to predict that there was a baby growing inside of her. Who needs pregnancy tests, eh?
10. A happy ending
This is a lovely story, and we’re so glad that nana’s cancer had disappeared. But our minds are totally blown as to how a 3-year-old would have known anything about her nana’s health! It seems that kids are a lot smarter than we give them credit for.
11. Reading with grandma
Some of these stories are pretty touching, and this one brought tears to our eyes! Even though the little girl had never met her grandma, she must have got some kind of sense that it was her grandma’s book, and decided to spend some quality time reading with her. Is it creepy or cute? We’ll let you decide.
12. A message from grandpa
Either this kid is getting a spiritual message from the beyond, or she just knows exactly what to say to make people feel better when they’re grieving. And as four-year-olds don’t exactly have the best emotional intelligence, we’d say that this little girl was receiving a message directly from her grandpa! Totally cool, but a little creepy.
13. He’s like daddy, but not…
In all seriousness though, we think we’d move out if our child started saying things like that. Children certainly do have a wild imagination, but we don’t think we’d fancy hanging around to take any chances. He doesn’t seem like the friendliest of spirits to us.
14. All the dead grandmas?
Not only is there one dead grandma in the attic, but there seems to be quite a lot, judging by this little girl’s comment. How could you even respond to a question like that? Sell the house, asap.
15. The psychic 3-year-old
Not only did this three-year-old predict that her mom was having twins, but she also predicted the gender, and the exact date that they were going to be born? Who needs a psychic when you have this little girl? She’s like a Magic 8 ball- ask her anything, and she’ll give you an answer.
16. “No one can hear you”
We hate to be the bearer of bad news, but we think this kid needs to be exorcised. Taunting people with creepy threats as well as biting is classic demon behaviour. We bet they got out of that basement, fast.
17. The phantom aunt
This is another one of those stories which is creepy, but also a little cute. Isn’t it crazy that this little girl’s paranormal experience happened three or four years after her aunt passed? It begs the question of how long spirits can linger around on earth for.
18. Move out and don’t come back
We’re not in the least bit surprised that this older sister decided to vacate the house for a trip to the beach. Demons can’t catch up with you at the beach, right? This sounds like something straight out of a horror movie.
19. The death threat
Now we might have got the total wrong end of the stick here, but it sounded for a second as if the 5-year old was sending out a possible death threat? This is a little creepy, but there’s also something totally comical about this tweet. Imagine being threatened by a 5-year-old…
20. Gory pictures
If this was our kid, the first thought that would spring to our mind was, “where on earth did you learn to draw like that?” Blood and gore aren’t exactly things that kids see on an everyday basis. We’d then be even more mind-blown when we realized that they seemed to have predicted the Malaysian airline’s flight going missing.
21. “I’m waiting for them”
The creepiest thing about this whole story is that the kid actually smiled after she’d finished her sentence. Like, “yeah, I know I’m hanging out with a bunch of spirits, but I’m actually quite happy about it.” These posts are making us rethink the whole ‘having kids’ thing.
22. The creepy message in the dead of night
Because what other time is appropriate to reminisce on when you used to be a grandpa? Despite being only three years old, this little kid already knows exactly how to give his mom the heebie-jeebies. How long had he been there for?
23. She’s got murder on her mind
It’s pretty worrying that this three-year-old already seems to have the gist of how to strangle someone, though if you murder someone in your dream, does it really count? We wonder how the nanny reacted to this? We reckon we’d be pretty freaked out.
24. The before-life
A lot of thought goes into the after-life, but we don’t often think about what happens before we’re born. This person’s daughter has a theory which creepily sounds as if it could actually be true. It’s actually pretty sweet if the babies do pick out their moms.
25. The white stuffed bunny
We’re pretty mind-blown that this person’s dad apparently came back as her kid. What are the odds?! It’s like he knew that he didn’t get to spend enough time with her, and wanted to come back for more.
26. The gentle three-year-old
Any parent would confirm that it’s not unusual to wake up to a child petting your head, but when they start asking for a piece of your finger to carry around, that’s when you should start to get worried. We don’t think we’d sleep soundly after an incident like that, either.
27. The tub monster
Now, this sounds like an unfriendly spirit. It’s bad enough when your child makes friends with ghosts, but when there’s something making them upset, we wouldn’t be able to help feeling really worried. Sell the tub, sell the house, pack up your car, and move as far away from the tub monster as possible!
28. Is that… a threat?
Weirdly, the English language has decided that the saying, “I want to eat you all up,” is actually a term of affection. But what happens when your five-year-old son says it to you, and he’s actually deadly serious? It’s best just to laugh it off…
29. The four-year-old with historical knowledge
Despite kids coming up with some totally random things, we’re completely baffled as to how this little boy would know anything about the war of 1812- let alone a star-spangled banner. Is this proof that children still have memories from a past life? Possibly.
30. The kid who could speak fluent Spanish
Hold up a second, if your English-speaking family gave birth to a child who could speak fluent Spanish, wouldn’t you go straight to the local newspaper? We think that would make a great story. We’re going to need some videos for evidence please.
