Feis means “festival” in Irish. It’s a term used to describe the traditional Gaelic arts and cultural festival.

In this event, people pay close attention to costumes. They are supposed to help create that stage presence and catch the audience’s attention.

Some participants even invest money to buy really expensive dresses, wigs, and makeup. They add as much color and flair to their costumes to impress the judges.

This little girl, however, chose not to wear anything fancy.

She wasn’t even wearing a wig. She simply chose to wear a traditional Irish dress and a matching headpiece for her first feis.

She looked really nice.

Even without makeup and excessive accessories, she looked like a pretty doll. It was mesmerizing to watch her.

Before delivering her performance, the little girl was assisted by an adult. A woman gave her a pep talk and some final instructions before her number. And like an adult, she listened intently.

Her feet, although small, were precise with the steps. She pointed her toes and lifted her knees like she was a pro. She was clearly enjoying the dance.

The little girl showed no hesitation. She was just focused on giving her everything into her performance. Without missing any beat, she looked like she had memorized the steps to a tee.

Another one said:

“That was the cutest thing I have ever seen in my life. Keep up the good work.”

The adorable girl was carried away with her performance.

The woman had to go back to the stage and remind her to take a bow and end the performance. The girl immediately followed the instruction before getting back with the rest of the dancers.

Feiseanna aren’t just held in Ireland.

The event is actually being held all around the world, including Canada, Wales, England, and Scotland. The Irish dance has different levels of competition- from beginner to championship. The categories’ names vary per region.

As a young kid, it’s important that they get oriented and encouraged to join the important events of their culture, like Irish dancing. Doing that at a young age will enable them to master their skills and hone their talents early.

The little girl’s performance was a hit.

Her performance now has nearly 4 million views and the numbers continue to rise. With her moves and doll-like appearance, she was able to impress not just the audience and judges who were there to watch her but also thousands of people worldwide.
