It would be a security nightmare to have to bring the first family outside the property for a dentist. A dentist’s office both in the basement of the White House and at the presidential retreat at Camp David is much more practical for everyone involved.

The basement even features a variety of shops where people inside can buy flowers, chocolates, and avail of carpentry services.

As massive as the place is, the first family cannot come and go as they please via a private entrance or exit.

White House staff are constantly alerted to each member’s whereabouts on the grounds as well.

Staff and tourists have access to the Diplomatic Reception Room as well, meaning there’s not all that much privacy when it comes down to it.
