Little Grace Rosian was born two months premature last October 2016, since then, she has been a fighter.
Looking at her beautiful smile – you’d never imagine how much this little girl has already endured. She was delivered two months premature with Down syndrome, since then, little Grace Rosian from Strongsville, Ohio has been fighting for her life. Yet, this little girl remains positive and happy.

Grace’s battles
Grace has always been a fighter. Born with Down syndrome, she was also diagnosed with TMD or transient myeloproliferative disorder which is a form of leukemia.
Just two days after being born, she has already endured her first chemotherapy. She spent her first two months in the NICU of Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital.

Seeing your child going through this all by herself is truly heartbreaking. Such a small child, fighting for her life every single day and yet, she thrived.
In an interview with Grace’s doctor at Cleveland Clinic Children, Seth Rotz, MD, said that children born with Down syndrome have a higher risk of contracting acute myeloid leukemia (AML). This is a more serious cancer of the blood and bone marrow and sadly, last August 2017, Grace was diagnosed with AML and her eight-month inpatient journey started.

This is now 2 types of cancer that this little baby has to go through.
Aside from AML, Grace has received 10 spinal tap procedures, where the chemo was administered directly into the spinal fluid due to her having AML in her spine.
Too many battles for a very young child, still, young Grace can still give out a beautiful smile.

“Even when her body was battered by infection or the effects of chemo, Grace took the treatments like a champ,” said Dr. Rotz. “All the nurses and everybody here just loved her.”
Seeing her photos on her Facebook page, you’d definitely smile seeing this little champ take on her challenges bravely.
Hearing for the first time
Based on WJW Cleveland, Grace’s mother, Valerie, was also on a task to get her cochlear implants that would help her drastically and also strengthening her verbal speech.

“All of a sudden hearing all of these things, it’s very overwhelming to her,” said Valerie Revell-Rosian, Grace’s mother. “It’s a lot I would imagine to take on. So when we did put it on, her whole body started to tremble.”
This little child has been given the gift of hearing and now, she is ready to face the world!
Grace’s smile
Even with her battles, Grace will always be accommodating to her visitors. She’d always give them smiles and little giggles that will surely brighten up anyone’s day.

“With everything Grace has been through, she’s always been a happy baby,” said Valerie Revell-Rosian to Cleveland Clinic. “I’m amazed to see how strong she’s getting and far she’s come along.”
Everyone should learn so much from this little fighter. She has gone through so much for her young age and still, she is eager to face life with a smile.
