The FCI Dog Dance World Championship takes place every year where participants compete in two categories: freestyle and heelwork. This participant is Lusy Imbergerova and her dog Deril from Italy. The two are competing in the freestyle category.
As you can see, her German Shepherd is just so happy to be there with her. It appears the two are the best of friends, and likely have been for a while now. Lusy is clothed in military gear, and it looks like they are ready for battle.
The routine begins with a salute. The perfect way to begin such a performance. Deril is watching his master Lusy very closely to see what he is to do. This game is fun!
The first thing that Deril does is lay down for Lusy. Of course, itโs time to camp out so they can be ready for anything the next day. After Deril is down, she herself lays down and wraps up with a blanket.
This is when the Reveille Army Song begins to play. Guess that means itโs time to get up! Hearing it, Deril โwakes upโ and uncovers Lusy.
But she doesnโt wake. What will ensure she wakes and begins her duties? Deril knows! He fake relieves himself on her. Of course, this does the trick.
They are now ready for their performance. โThe Warrior Song,โ begins to play and they both know what is about to happen. The two march, march, march around the stadium. An adorable duo, Lusy and Deril have perfected this march to a tee.
After their march, they do the scissor leg walking trick that was sure to wow many. Deril wraps himself around Lusyโs leg as many times as she tells him to.
Up next, itโs time to do their exercise routine. Gotta keep those buns and thighs tight to be in the army, right? Those squats are killer.
While that is adorable, whatโs even more adorable is what happens next. The two do pushups together. Although, it seems Deril has his own way of doing things.
After pushups, itโs time for sit-ups. Itโs a tough one, but you gotta get those abs rock solid. Isnโt Deril the best workout buddy ever?
But what happens when the routine is done? Itโs time for battle! Sneaking up on their enemies, Deril gets into his army crawling position and crawls across the floor in front of Lust and her Pink Panther walk.
There must be enemies nearby because Lusy gets down, ready to fight to the death. Things get really intense when Lusy throws a grenade and that silly dog goes and fetches it.
Afraid for their lives, the two back away, but not fast enough. Lusy falls to the groundโฆunconscious. Is this the end of the dogโs dear friend and army buddy? What will Deril do?
His friend fallen, Deril begins CPR with chest compressions. Most Americans donโt even know CPR, and Deril is showing us all up!
He even does mouth-to-mouth next! Deril could be a First Responder or EMT. This dog is the best soldier weโve ever seen. But are his efforts enough?
Yes! He did it! After intense CPR and a call for help, he saved his partner. What a hero he is! He deserves a purple heart and a big bacon-flavored treat! Heck, he needs a lifetime supply of treats!
After making sure she was okay, Deril goes and gets her blanket, waving it around her like a victory flag before giving it to her. Taking care of his best girl like the gentleman that he is.
The performance ends with a final salute to Deril, and war heroes just like him everywhere. Now this is a dog that we would all support. Support our troops, support dogs like Deril.
