Have you ever experienced a coincidence so uncanny that you can’t believe the odds of it actually happening? It makes you feel like it has to be so much more than a coincidence. It must have a deeper meaning.
The odds are just too slim to have some coincidences being tossed away as something so simple — some coincidences are so odd that they are just downright eerie.
We’ve compiled 10 of the strangest coincidences that completely defy logic.
10. Is this reincarnation or time travel?
It’s a bit creepy how much Jennifer Lawrence looks like classic Egyptian actress, Zubaida Tharwat. From the eyes to the lips, to the facial structure — how is this even possible?!
9. Speaking of reincarnation…
The founder of Ferrari, Enzo Ferrari, died in 1988. Just a month later, soccer star Mesut Özil was born. It’s a bit crazy how much they look alike — is this proof of reincarnation? The resemblance is unreal.
8. Neighbors separated by centuries
George Handel, an 18th-century composer, lived at 25 Brook Street in London. Jimi Hendrix, the famous guitarist, lived at 23 Brook Street. Both of these musicians were extremely influential in their respective genres. That’s a lot of talent on one block!
7. Yep…time travel must exist.
Edgar Allen Poe wrote a book titled The Narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym of Nantucket; it was a tale about four sailors who survived a shipwreck and had the terrible forced decision to eat a ship boy named Richard Parker. Poe claimed that it was a true story but no such event had been documented.
46 years after the book was published, a boat did sink, surviving members of the tragedy recounted how they survived by eating a ship boy…named Richard Parker. This sparked rumors that Poe had a time machine.
6. The Simpsons predicted Donald Trump’s presidency
17 years before Donald Trump was sworn into office, The Simpsons aired an episode where Donald Trump, was in fact, the President. Some of the clips from the show, eerily mimic events that have happened in real life.
What’s even stranger is that the episode shared similar details that happened along Donald Trump’s actual campaign. Pretty creepy, right?
5. Literary serendipity
Anthony Hopkins was studying for a role in a film adapted from a book titled The Girl from Petrovka by George Feifer. Hopkins looked in numerous bookstores but couldn’t find a copy anywhere.
By sheer coincidence, we found a copy on the subway that someone had left behind. When Hopkins finally met Feifer, the author said that he, himself, did not have a copy of the book. He had supposedly lent one to a friend, and they left it on the subway. What are those extraordinary odds?
4. Two presidents, different eras, similar biographies
Abraham Lincoln and John F. Kennedy were incredible U.S. presidents — amazing men with a multitude of accomplishments. But they have much more than that in common. In fact — the two men share a few eerie similarities:
- Both were killed by gunshot wounds to the head. Each died on a Friday before a big holiday and were in the company of their spouse and another couple.
- Their successors were both vice presidents named Johnson. Both were southern, and both were Democrats.
- Both men had four children.
- Both men had a friend named Billy Graham.
- Kennedy’s secretary was named Mrs. Lincoln, and President Lincoln had a secretary named Ms. John.
3. How on earth did this even happen?
Back in 1895, two cars collided in Ohio. What makes this event so strange is the fact that cars had just started being produced at this time; there were only two cars in all of Ohio. These two cars!
Accidents hadn’t started being documented at that time, so official records were unavailable.
2. A tragic coincidence within the family
George Tierney died on December 20, 1922, while working on the beginning of construction for the Hoover Dam. The last person to die while working on the dam was Patrick Tierney — George’s son. Patrick also died on December 20th.

Twins in Ohio were separated at birth and adopted to different families; however, their lives were insanely similar. One was named James Alan, the other James Allen. They both became police officers and both married women named Linda.
The weirdness doesn’t stop there — they both got divorced, and remarried women named Betty.
