Tori posted a slideshow of two photos of her husband, one showing him lying in bed with his eyes closed and wires all over his chest, while a head bandage was covering his head.

In the second picture, Zach is awake, still wired though, and giving a big thumbs up.

As Tori explained in the post, this is not how they expected their week to go. Her husband had to have an emergency shunt revision and she was right next to him the whole time.

According to Johns Hopkins, “a shunt is a hollow tube surgically placed in the brain (or occasionally in the spine) to help drain cerebrospinal fluid and redirect it to another location in the body where it can be reabsorbed”.

As Tori wrote, the first three days after the surgery were scary, but her husband made it and was doing well while recovering in the hospital at the time.

Tori went on to thank the neurosurgeons that took care of her husband, while she made sure to thank their followers, friends, and family for all the love and support they have been receiving.

Zach’s wife also mentioned his mother-in-law, Amy, who took care of the couple’s three children while the two were in the hospital. In particular, she thanked her for playing “hide and seek for who knows how many hours”.

As for her husband, Tori said Zach handled the surgery like a rock star, and she was proud of him.

At the same time, Zach’s father, Matt, with whom Zach had a falling out after the Roloff patriarch made a U-turn on his decision to sell the family farm, also made an Instagram post about his son’s health.

According to Matt, his rocky relationship with Zach is now “on the right path”, and the two are getting along well currently.

Matt Roloff wrote in his post that his son was to undergo a shunt revision, and he encouraged his followers to pray for Zach’s quick and easy recovery.

He also mentioned his daughter-in-law, saying that Zach is “in good hands with Tori advocating tooth and nail for his best interest”.

Fans of the family have flooded Roloffs’ accounts with well wishes and prayers, and they are all hoping Zach will be fine soon.

“Praying for a quick recovery for you Zach….Get Well Soon” someone wrote.

Zach has a type of dwarfism called achondroplasia, and it is a condition that can cause hydrocephalus, which might need a stunt revision.

Tori and Zach’s three children, with their last one being born last year, have all been diagnosed with achondroplasia like their father.

The family has explained that they don’t want to make their dwarfism much of a deal because it’s not their children’s identity. Still, they want to support people with dwarfism and their children, who don’t have as many resources as they do to go through life.
