First dates can be pretty nervewracking. You overthink every little detail about, well, everything – your outfit, your hair, your shoes, everything!
You want to create the perfect first impression and it’s so easy to get caught up in what it is your partner wants.
Nonetheless, first dates are exciting. It’s always a thrill getting to know someone as they too, get to know you.
One Twitter user, Tim, witnessed a first date between a couple who were clearly head over heels for each other.
That must have been a sight to see!
In heart-pounding detail, the user detailed every bit of the couple’s sweet encounter on his Twitter feed.
Let me just say, it’s pretty amazing.
Tim was out on a Sunday evening at an upscale restaurant enjoying a nice glass of wine by himself. A young couple was sat next to him and after seeing non-verbal cues and listening to their conversation, he quickly realized this was their first date!
The young man was nervous and anxiously wanted to please his date.
The young woman was thoughtful and just as nervous. She insisted on splitting the bill and was extremely cautious with the menu.
It turned out, the restaurant was a bit more upscale than the young man realized.
Still, he encouraged his date to order whatever she wanted. As polite as she was, he was met with a bit of resistance.
She insisted that she would have whatever it was he was going to order.
He even offered her an appetizer! What a gentleman.
When the waiter asked if they wanted to see the wine list, he jumped at the opportunity.
When the menus arrived, he realized that he might have bitten off more than he could chew. Even Tim admitted their wine prices were a tad too high.
His date again offered to pay. But he made her a promise; this date was on him.
After agreeing to two glasses of water, she suggested they go to a bar afterward for drinks. But she was adamant that she would cover that.
Tim watched the date unfold in childlike excitement. After all, it’s always lovely to see people falling in love. Clearly, there was a connection and Tim was lucky enough to witness it.
When her date got up to use the restroom, she began texting someone excitedly. Tim recalls her having the biggest smile on her face.
I bet!
When he came back, Tim noticed the waiter talking to a manager. But they weren’t looking at the lovely couple, they were focused on Tim, without food or a beverage.
He ordered another glass of wine.
I must say, wine pairs perfectly with the movie that was playing out before him.
When the waiter came back with Tim’s glass of wine, he tells the couple that he forgot to inform them that the roast beef they ordered came with a complimentary glass of wine.
This, of course, isn’t true which makes this story that much better!
Tim is even on the verge of jumping for joy.
The gentleman regains his confidence and boldly orders two glasses.
Tim decided to leave and let the couple continue their blissful evening. But before he left, he had a word with the waiter.
He informed him that it was very nice what he did for them.
The waiter replied simply, “We’ve all been that young man.”
Wow. What an amazing evening for all those involved. It was definitely something special what Tim was able to witness.
Dates can be intimidating at times but always remember to relax and just be yourself.
