Nothing says fall and Thanksgiving like absolutely adorable fabric pumpkins that are super simple to make. The material you choose to use for the exterior of the pumpkin can match your Thanksgiving tableware or your home’s holiday decor.

Or you could instead use a fun textured material like denim or fuzzy fleece for added character.

How you customize these cutie pie pumpkins is completely up to you!

The best part is that no sewing or skills are required to craft these festive fall fabric gourds. It’s an incredibly simple project!

No one likes to buy the materials and spend time crafting a project only to decide the end project isn’t up to par and stash it in a closet instead. This one will turn out adorably no matter what your crafting skill level is.

Made from a roll of toilet paper, these pumpkins are quick, easy and cheap to make.

A crafter named Lilly shared that her own pumpkin project turned out “much better than I had anticipated.”

“I was worried that it would be difficult to get the fabric wrapped just right (I tend to be a perfectionist), but it probably took less than a minute for each one.”

Crafter Amanda Smith shared on Lilly’s craft page that she and her pals made 16 fabric pumpkins on a girls weekend and they turned out “fabulous.”

Supplies Needed

  • One large roll of toilet paper, preferably a mega-sized roll
  • An 18-inch square piece of fabric with a design you love
  • A strip of green ribbon or leaves for the stem
  • A 4-inch piece of a branch or a few cinnamon sticks craftily bundled together

Instructions

First, unroll the toilet paper approximately 10 times, then roll it back up loosely so that it has a rounder, fluffier shape.

Second, set the square of fabric down on the table with the inside facing up and place the toilet paper roll in the center.

Third, grab one corner of the fabric square and tuck it inside the cardboard of the toilet paper roll. Work your way around the pumpkin, gathering up the edges of the fabric and tucking each corner piece into the roll.

Finally, tie a colorful ribbon around a branch piece and insert it into the center of the pumpkin. Voila! That’s it!

Helpful Tips

By selecting a thicker fabric, you add bulk to your pumpkin and that helps hide the shape of a toilet paper roll, resulting in a more natural-looking pumpkin.

To make the stem of the toilet paper pumpkin, tie together several sticks if you cannot find anything thick enough to use as the stem. Another alternative is to use cinnamon sticks affixed together, as that offers a more polished look and they smell divine!

Instead of using a colorful ribbon, you can go more natural and use fake leaves instead.
