The tiny house movement has taken the world by storm. People are now clamoring to downsize and live in tiny homes.

Because of tiny homes, homeowners are now able to live simpler without worry about mortgages and paying rent. They can get rid of the non-essentials in their lives and connect more with themselves, their partners, and their families.

Just how tiny are tiny homes?

Tiny homes are literally homes that have gone tiny. An average home is usually around 2,600 square feet while a tiny home is at 100 to 400 square feet.

Why do a lot of people are now making the move to go tiny?

There are a couple of reasons.

It’s environmentally-friendly. Because the houses are tiny, they require less energy to maintain it. You won’t need as much heating, cooling, and lighting because of the small space. Some tiny homeowners even have solar panels installed so there’s even less energy used.

It encourages living simpler. Since there’s not a lot of space, the urge to buy a lot is decreased because there’s no space to store it.

You become mobile.

When you want or have to move locations or cities, moving with a tiny house becomes a lot more manageable. One, packing is going to be a breeze because you have less stuff. Two, you can literally take your whole house and drive it to your new location.

It costs less than an average house.

Depending on where you live, the price of a traditional house starts at $150,000. And in other more expensive cities, you’ll need at least $850,000 to buy a house. With a tiny home, you can get one set up at $25,000. There are tiny homes that cost at least $100,000 to build but those are usually custom-built.

But what does a tiny house look like?

It’s a challenge to fit in a living room, dining room, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, office, and reading nook inside a tiny home. How is that possible?

A young couple named Larissa and Tyler wanted that challenge in their tiny home. They wanted a tiny home because they wanted to keep their space small and their housing costs low, too.

They sought the help of Build Tiny to help them build their tiny dream home.

“Build Tiny is a small family business with big aspirations for Tiny Homes. In 2017, Gina designed and built her own Tiny House with Brother-in-Law Jason. The whole family got involved and had so much fun in the process. We saw a need for reliable, experienced Tiny House builders, and felt as though we would make the dream team… we decided to break all the rules and go into business together – and so Build Tiny Ltd was born!” they described the business on their website.

Build Tiny had been around in the tiny home construction for almost two years since they made their first tiny home.

Since then, they ‘e built dozens of tiny homes including Larissa and Tyler’s home. And Build Tiny really delivered THE house for the couple. They designed a tiny house that can still in a tight spot in the suburbs.

Every part of the room has been designed to save space.

Since they’re a young and fit couple, Build Tiny knew they can climb up a vertical ladder to get to their bedroom/office loft.

And since they also work from home, Build Tiny managed to fit in an office for them up on the loft, too.
