Sometimes you just gotta be off duty for a sec.

Everyone thinks police officers are serious people… And I mean, they are. They should be at least, since they are fighting crime and investigating bad guys every day.

We want the people who protect our neighborhoods to take their jobs seriously, but who says they can’t have a little fun every now and then?

This one police officer who was off-duty was caught red-handed, having a super silly and adorable photoshoot with his K-9 pup.

What makes it extra charming is that, along with police officers, K-9s are also often looked at as super serious dogs, since they are the ones who are helping the cops fight crimes. But this pup just wanted to have a good time too! It doesn’t mean he can’t be goofy every now and then.

Anyway, a woman named Gina Anzaldua Stevenson witnessed the whole moment go down, so she decided to take a photo of it and then share it to Facebook, specifically a group called Dogspotting Society. It caught wind and went viral after that, having the whole world laughing at just how cute the cop and his furry partner were.

After the cop took several selfies, he showed each one to the dog! For approval, we’re guessing?

“I just watched the cop at the airport take a series of selfies with his dog and then stop to show him each one,” Gina wrote in her Facebook post. “I stand corrected, that sweet boi was his partner not just a dog.”

Is that not the sweetest thing ever?

While the Facebook post was going viral, it made its way to the police officer himself. Since everyone on the Internet was wondering how the selfies turned out, he gave the people what they wanted and posted the selfies.

To no one’s surprise, the selfies of the man and his dog are insanely cute.

It turns out the police officer’s name is Andre Cloyd and his pup’s name is Zigi. He works in Dallas, TX and had some time off, so obviously he used the extra time to snap some sweet photos with his doggie friend.

The selfies that were uploaded by the cop also went viral and pleased everyone who so desperately wanted them. They were uploaded just earlier this week and they are already up to 34k likes and thousands of comments!

“I wanna pet the dog,” one person commented. “I’m living for these,” another person wrote while one person said, “This is the follow up I needed.”

With stories like these, you can’t always get a follow up, but we were all so lucky enough that Andre came across the post and was happy to give us the photos the whole world had been dying to see.

We are so glad the officer was able to give people the content they want — the content they deserve! The photos they took are absolutely precious and you can tell just how happy Zigi is.

Cheers to these two true partners in crime!
