Behind many famous artists, there’s often a friend or family member who has always had their back. For pop-rock icon Pink, that special someone is her father, a Vietnam veteran named Jim Moore.
“My dad was my first rockstar. I am who I am, I’m a little ****, because of him,” she told a crowd of fans during a live performance.
“He wrote a song about 40 years ago, in Vietnam. And I think it’s important today because it’s a soldier’s cry and we’re producing them by the thousands.”
To the crowd’s delight, Pink then invited her father to the stage to perform the song he wrote.
“This is a really special evening because the first time my dad’s ever performed in front of a group is going to be right now…” she said. The audience whooped and applauded in excitement, realizing they were about to be treated to a rare, humanizing inside look at the relationship between Pink and her ever-supportive father.
“So can we get my favorite person in the whole world out here?” Pink called backstage. “My daddy? Mr. Jim Moore? Can we give him lots of love?”
The stadium erupted with cheers when Pink’s father arrived on stage. The two hugged, then sat side by side to sing the veteran’s song.

The crowd went wild at the end of the song. Pink joined her fans in cheering and applauding for her father, who gave the audience a few shy waves before leaving the stage.
Needless to say, talent clearly runs in the family.
