These videos tend to calm your nerves, eases your stress, and even help you put to sleep. We might think it’s weird to be calmed down by random videos, but there’s some science to it.

It turns out, these videos help release dopamine and serotonin in our bodies.

These are neurotransmitters that bring out calm, positivity, and happiness in our bodies. It’s equivalent to eating chocolates! This is also proven by a study in Swansea University on people who frequently watch Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response (ASMR) videos. They said it gives them that tingling sensation that relaxes them.

The term for this is the ‘mirror effect’ or Mirror Neuron Theory.

According to Dr. Anita Deak, these oddly satisfying, ASMR videos creates a mirroring effect in our neuron giving us the sensation as if we’re the ones doing whatever we’re watching. This gives us the same relaxing feeling as doing them ourselves.

This is why there are a lot of oddly satisfying ASMR videos that went viral.

We bet some people just want to destress at the end of the day. Others also watch them during their break to relax. While we’re sure a certain few watch these videos to put them to sleep. Here, we feature a compilation of those videos.

It is a video compilation of people who are so good at doing their jobs; it’s oddly satisfying.

Most of these involved construction and cleaning jobs that had a lot of repetitive motions. They also do it so well that only a practiced and expert individual can do it.

The cleaning videos are oddly satisfying.

We know we hate cleaning as much as we hate the dirty stuff. But seeing experts cleaning pools, concrete, and the likes makes us wish we have the equipment to do so. And when we saw how squeaky clean they turned out? That’s mostly satisfying.

Some involve cutting things precisely.

Just like the guy who was cutting the edges of the grass so perfectly, or this man cutting the wood in the shape of the entire staircase. It’s both satisfying and mind-blowing how accurate they cut those!

Some involve repair and maintenance works for public spaces like highways and parking lots.

If you ever wonder how they fill potholes, well, you’ll find some answers here. While we’re used to seeing how they fix roads manually (and by that, we mean using wheelbarrows and shovels), people created machines that would fire hot gravel and bitumen at the ground through high-pressure steam. Fantastic engineering right here!

Lastly, we love these videos on construction.

This man setting up a brick wall is one of our favorites. Look at how he does so in precise, repetitive action. Plus, the audio that comes with it makes it music to the ears. We wonder how many years it took him to put it up this fast and perfectly, too.
