Dancing is a beautiful art form that helps connect us all, a reason why it’s enjoyed by people across the globe. But even if you’re not a dancer yourself – simply watching can be moving on its own.

One performance that won’t be forgotten took place in Ft. Lauderdale when four-year-old Belle Arauz lit up the stage to “Halo.” Despite her tiny size, she has the ability to leave crowds awestruck with her talent for dance.

The video below was captured at the JUMP convention in October of 2019. Belle was representing the Spotlight Dance Academy with her Lyrical Solo, which was choreographed by Jennifer Travieso.

Everyone sat silent as she began in a posed position with a big smile on her face. As Jasmine Thompson’s soul-stirring version of “Halo” played through the speakers, little Belle went into action.

The youngster’s moves are graceful, fluid, and quite mesmerizing to watch.

During her routine, she combines various dance techniques with acrobatics – a style known as “Acro.” It’s a physically demanding sport that’s well-known for its use in Cirque du Soleil.

Belle’s flexibility and strength can be witnessed through her beautiful movements. Not only that, the precision she shows is quite incredible, especially for a girl her age.

The choice of song for Belle’s performance brings her solo to another level.

“Halo” is a power-ballad written by Ryan Tedder and Evan Bogart, but it was always intended that musical artist Beyoncé would sing it. SongFacts explains that it:

“…describes a love that is so phenomenal that it is heavenly.”

Many other artists have also covered the song that was popularized by Beyoncé – including Jasmine Thompson. Her acoustic version works in perfect unison with Belle’s routine.

At just four-years-old, Belle shows off skills that are mind-boggling for those of us who aren’t dancers. It’s also amazing to know that she was able to achieve them in a relatively short time.

While it’s uncertain when Belle started dancing, it appears that she was born for the spotlight.

There are plenty of reasons why a child should start dancing at a young age, along with it having great health benefits for those who are older too (including the elderly).

On the site NDEO, they point out that dance is excellent for a child physically, it improves their social awareness, boosts them emotionally, and also helps with cognitive development.

In addition, dance is a universal language that even kids can understand. NDEO explains:

“Dance embodies one of our most primal relationships to the universe. It is pre-verbal, beginning before words can be formed. It is innate in children before they possess command over language and is evoked when thoughts or emotions are too powerful for words to contain. “

Belle’s routine is deeply-expressive and it’s obvious she put her heart and soul into it. She’s like a little angel without wings.

In the end, Belle ended up receiving accolades for her “Halo” performance, which has also taken the internet’s breath away. She placed fourth in the category of JumpStart Lyrical Solo!

From young to old, there’s nothing more empowering than seeing someone let go of their inhibitions and “dance like no one’s watching.” But even if that’s not for you, you can still enjoy the beauty of dance from afar.
