This weekend, Cameron Marley Buffett took to Instagram to pay a heartfelt tribute to his late father, the legendary tropical rock icon Jimmy Buffett, who passed away at 76 on September 1st.
Cameron, born in 1994 and adopted by Jimmy and his wife Jane Slagsvol, poured his emotions into a post that celebrated his “amazing relationship” with his dad.
He also vowed to keep alive his father’s legacy of sunny, island escapism.
Losing a loved one is never easy, especially when you have a close-knit bond.
It appears that Cameron had a very strong, close bond with his late dad.
“My dad lived the happiest, most fulfilling life anyone could,” Cameron wrote, captioning a touching photo of him, his dad, and their dog chilling by the beach at sunset.

Cameron didn’t stop there.
He went on to say, “We had an amazing relationship and I miss him so much.”

Opening up about the life lessons he gleaned from his dad, Cameron added, “He had an amazing gift of being able to see the positive in everything, and I will try to do the same, for him.”

Jimmy Buffett, the man behind the classic “Margaritaville,” succumbed to Merkel cell carcinoma earlier this month.
He leaves behind his wife Jane and their children Savannah, Sarah Delaney, and Cameron.

“Growing old is not for sissies,” she quoted her late husband, acknowledging the challenges they faced in recent years.
She expressed immense gratitude for the love and support they received, saying, “Everywhere we went, we were surrounded by love.”
Jane thanked the fans for creating “the world’s most joyful community,” emphasizing how their love fueled Jimmy’s performances.
Wrapping up her tribute, Jane referred to Jimmy’s song “Bubbles Up,” saying, “He sings, ‘Just know that you are loved, there is light up above, and the joy is always enough. Bubbles up.’ Jimmy knew he was loved. Right until the end, he looked for the light. Thank you for giving joy to him and to me.”
