Anyone been getting a craving for some sponge cake recently? Enjoy watching the sun bake? Well, you’re in luck, as Jimmy Buffet buffet is opening up a Margaritaville Resort in Orlando, Florida this January. That’s right, it’s time to cancel those Disney World plans folks.

The new 300-acre park is sure to give them a run for their money at least, complete with a gigantic waterpark, hotel, and dozens of dining and entertainment options.

“Margaritaville Resort Orlando will be the first resort destination in this area where guests and owners can equally enjoy a personalized, premium experience and a robust offering of amenities, all within easy walking distance from their guest room or cottage home,” Alyssa Bushey, head of marketing for the resort, said in a press release.

“More than 35 dining, recreation and relaxation options, shopping, spas, entertainment, a dine-in movie theatre and an exhilarating water park are all just a short stroll or trolley ride away.”

Instead of waiting in the long Disney lines this year, many tourists will instead be relaxing poolside, frozen cocktail in hand at the resort. It certainly sounds enticing.

Just the waterpark alone would be enough to satisfy most families. Spanning 14-acres, it will feature a lazy river, wave pool, nine rides, rafting, and plenty of cabanas and hammocks of course!

Once you get bored at the waterpark, simply head on over to the Sunset Walk shopping, dining, and entertainment district.

It’s not just an adult destination either. Margaritaville Orlando will have enough going on to keep Parrotheads of all ages busy and happy.

While parents are off wasting away drinking their Margaritas, young people can participate in the several kids and teens clubs they are planning on operating.

The artist renditions of the future park basically make it out to be a literal tropical paradise, and really, we don’t have any reason to doubt them. The Margaritaville brand has been wildly successful all around the world.

There are 11 Margaritaville Resorts currently operating with plans in the works for several more.

Vacationing at this new one won’t break the bank either. Rates at the hotel will start at $199 per night. The diehard Parrotheads interested in staying there longer, however, might want to consider the cottages. Not only are they rentable, but they can actually be purchased. Buying one isn’t that crazy of an idea really. For most of us, living out the rest of our lives in Margaritaville bliss doesn’t sound half bad.

It’s amazing to think that the Margaritaville laid-back lifestyle is actually a real possibility now when it all started with just a single fictional song.

Jimmy Buffet has definitely come a long way since that day when he first lost his shaker of salt.

The classic “Margaritaville” song that started it all was originally written back in 1977, and in 2016, it was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame for its cultural and historical significance.
