Meet Tucker Beck, the heroic bartender.
He’s been tending bar at Huey’s in Memphis, Tennessee for about a decade now.
These days, he’s also serving up compassion!
That’s right!
Tucker’s known for making people’s days.
It’s true! In fact, he just helped a homeless man seeking sanctuary in the bar.
To Tucker, it’s just a part of the job.
This isn’t Tucker’s first grand gesture of kindness. Far from it!
So what happened, exactly?
Tucker shared his entire story with the local ABC 24 Memphis news team.
Tucker begins to explain:
“Friday, a gentleman walked in the bar and was asking for money.”
Apparently, a lady at the bar proceeded to give him $2. He immediately turned to Tucker with a question:
“What can I buy to eat for $2?”
Tucker obviously knew that $2 wouldn’t get you much at the bar, but he didn’t care.
“What do you want? A cheeseburger with fries? Or onion rings?”
The man jumped at the opportunity for some hot onion rings. Tucker let him know that he’s good to go!
“Done deal!”
Tucker then left to fill the order, returning with some water.
“He got his food, and he was just grinning from ear to ear.”
No matter where he’s at or what he’s doing, Tucker’s spreading joy.
He truly cares about people.
Tucker believes that the man was dehydrated. The refreshments seemed to spark new life into the new customer.
“He thanked me probably 15 times. He was so hungry and so nice.”
People helping people – you love to see it!
We need some more love in the world!
Tucker’s kindness has clearly touched countless hearts!
A bargoer by the name of Dawn Wilt saw the whole thing. He took the time to give Tucker Beck a heartwarming shoutout on Facebook!
“We’ve looked for him. I haven’t found him. I was gonna maybe see if there’s a way we could help him maybe more on a long-term, permanent basis.”
They’d like to help him find a shelter or a comfortable place to stay.
Keep in mind that this isn’t some isolated, random occurrence for Tucker.
This is how he lives his life, every single day.
This is who he is!
He’s notorious around the bar for his generosity and compassion.
He’s a damn nice guy, and everyone knows it!
Let’s learn from Tucker’s example!
Everyone knows 2020 is the worst. We all hate it. Everything’s upside down, and we’re all paying the price amid a global health crisis.
The next time you see someone struggling, give a little love.
We need compassion now more than ever!
Tucker’s shown us that little acts of kindness can go a long way. At the very least, a simple kind gesture can brighten a day.
