A company’s logo is the first thing people notice and while some of them just look aesthetically pleasing, there are plenty of logos that have hidden meanings embedded in their design. It’s not just the looks – the meaning behind the logo certainly counts as well.

When you quickly view the Amazon logo, you’d never think this logo has a sort of double meaning. Well, it turns out it’s all in the arrow. It resembles a smile to indicate the happiness and satisfaction of its customers, and it also goes from ‘A’ to ‘Z’, indicating that you can truly find everything you could think of at Amazon.
Take a good look at the first two letters of tire manufacturer Continental’s logo. The C and the O resemble a wheel and its tire.
Speaking of cars, the Formula 1 logo has a hidden meaning as well. The negative space between the F and the red marks clearly shows a ‘1’. Ever wondered what the aggressive red stripes stand for? The designers used this to indicate the speed of the F1 racing cars.
The Apple logo is perhaps the most famous one on the planet and was designed by Rob Yanov. If you look closely, you can see that the steel of the apple fits precisely into the little bite mark. Where did Yanov get inspiration for the logo? It was rather coincidentally: “I bought a whole bag of apples, placed them in a bowl, and spent time drawing them for a week, trying to break the image down into something simple. Taking a bite out of an apple was part of the experiment, and completely by coincidence I realized that ’bite’ sounded exactly the same as the computer term ’byte’”, said Yanov.
Vaio, a company that was previously owned by Sony, produces laptops and other mobile devices. The first part of the logo indicates an analog symbol. The last two letters – I and O – indicate a digital signal, ones, and zeroes.
While it may just look like a stylized ‘H’, Hyundai’s logo actually symbolizes a handshake between two people.
There are lots of automobile companies with hidden logos out there, and Toyota is no different. All the different rings in the Toyota-logo each form a letter.
BMW has a simple, yet cleverly hidden logo. The middle part of the logo is a piece of the Bavarian flag, a part of Germany where the company was originally founded.
