Footloose. Everyone has heard of this film and its same titled song.

It tells the story of young Ren McCormack. A teenager from Chicago who moves to a small town that has a ban on dancing.

It’s got that typical 80’s flare for storytelling and it has become a classic.

Can’t forget to mention Kevin Bacon as Ren McCormack.

Even the land of pasta and pizza. Yes, Italy.

Footloose ala Italia.

Not just any dance too. Line dancing!

Exactly as what the name implies. People dance in lines choreographed to repeat a series of steps in unison without physical contact. They all face the same direction and just repeat the sequence.

Footloose means to be free and do as one pleases for pleasure.

And that’s exactly what these Italians do. They let it all out. The classic line dance of hop, skip, step and spin matching every beat of the classic hit.

A line dance will have a certain number of counts and if you look closely, you can catch the timing of the count. There are catchy names for the steps too.

The Texas two step, tush push, west coast shuffle, redneck girl, and the boot scootin’ boogie just to name a few.

Line dancing is ideal for singles and those who don’t normally dance.

Not having a partner is not even a problem. Plus the steps are pretty simple it’s easy to catch. A few drinks would help loosen up too.

Watch them go! It’s obvious by the smiles on their faces that they’re having a blast.

They just repeat the same sequence of steps over and over again and yet one wouldn’t notice it so much because it looks really cool!

And how about this cowboy? Seems he’s got all the ladies literally following him. It’s okay to make mistakes too. All you need is the confidence to step on that dance floor.

Keep dancing ladies and gentlemen!

Imagine the pasta consumed after this dance.

He must be someone important or popular seeing as the ladies keep smiling at him and following his every move. He certainly looks the part too.

As simple as line dancing is, he makes it look more complicated than it really is. His demeanor and movements seem to be more flamboyant than usual.
