There are a lot of ways to raise money for charities. One of them is coming up with something you know people will buy and using it to make money. That’s exactly what the Australian Firefighters Calendar is all about.

The calendar has been around for many years, and each year, the creators come up with a new theme to feature hot firefighters.

This year, they have chosen to take photos with animals. Who can resist hot firefighters with animals? Now that’s a calendar everyone wants on their wall.

David Rogers, the director of the Australian Firefighters Calendar, said:

“With the explosion of international interest in the calendar, it only made sense for us to invite the hottest firefighters from around the globe here to the beautiful Gold Coast to be part of the event.”

Bindi Erwin has worked with the Australian Firefighters Calendar in the past, and she is thrilled to be a part of it again.

This year, several photos were taken at Steve Irwin’s Australia Zoo. Bindi believes that the causes the calendar supports are worthy and that it’s great that so many firefighters are willing to be part of something so important. She said:

“We are so excited to be involved with the 2019 Australian Firefighters Calendar again. The funds they raise help to save and protect Australian native wildlife around the country; they really are wildlife warriors!”

Bindi’s brother, Robert, also commented on the calendar:

“We are very honored that the Australian Firefighters Calendar will be donating to the treatment of so many animals in our Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital. It was great to meet these Aussie heroes.’”

It’s not easy to become a model for the calendar.

Firefighters send in their photos from all over hoping to be a part of it. Only a few will be chosen for the calendar. It’s something a lot of firefighters hope to be a part of and many even train for.

Firefighter Anthony Hanna explained how serious the competition is. He said:

“The talent is definitely getting harder, bigger and stronger than last year.”

Firefighter Cale King said:

“You can see everyone else puts in a lot of time and effort and dieting into it, as well.”

Not everyone has been so committed, though.

Firefighter Luke Wood said he continued to enjoy doughnuts and pizza throughout his training routine.

Firefighter David Rogers is happy with the way the calendar has been raising money over the years. He feels that it’s benefiting not only the charities but also the firefighters. He also believes that the 2019 calendar will bring attention to the work that shelters, rescues, and zoos do, as well as how they help so many animals. He added:

“We are very excited to start working with local Australian and international animal shelters. We felt it was important to use the calendar’s social media presence to shine a light on the incredible work they all do. Even a small donation to these organizations can make an enormous difference and we look forward to expanding our support to these charities.”

According to its website, the Australian Firefighters Calendar was established in 1993 to support the Children’s Hospital Foundation, providing funds for research into childhood burns.

Now in its 26th year, the Australian Firefighters Calendar has raised more than $2.8 million for various charities.

On average, the firefighters spend 17 days being photographed. They donate the money earned to many different charities. Some of them include Children’s Hospital Foundation in Queensland, The Starlight Foundation in New South Wales, My Room Children’s Cancer Charity in Victoria, The Cancer Council in South Australia, and the Salvation Army in the Australian Capital Territory. They have also donated proceeds to Mates4Mates, Australia Zoo Wildlife Warriors, Precious Paws Animal Rescue, Safe Haven Animal Rescue, Save a Horse, Healing Hooves, and AMS Cat Haven.

The calendar is a fun way to raise awareness about the different charities and organizations that need help, as well as funding them.

It’s always great to donate, but when you can help out and get a calendar with some hot firefighters on the pages, it’s even better.
