Rufio is a golden retriever who is a special therapy animal. He is also pretty popular as a social media star who lives in Chicago. But don’t let his canine features make you think he just sits around all day. Rufio works and plays hard!
On one of his many trips to the pet supply store, he didn’t want to leave when his owner said it was time to go. The furry canine put his “paw down” and reacted in a hilarious way. But much to his chagrin, his owner had the whole thing on video.
Often, dogs can become internet famous just like people can!
Everyone remembers the face of the comical Grumpy Cat right? Maybe you remember Buddy Mercury the beagle who sang and played the piano? Well either way, Rufio has around 250 thousand followers on Instagram!
Rufio’s owner operates his Instagram account with the name, livingthatgoldenlife, where she shares pictures of his life experiences as an urban dog.
According to Rufio’s personal website (yep, he’s rocking 2020), he’s Chicago’s “hottest” pooch. On top of being featured by a few major publications, Rufio also gets many fans who want pictures when he hits the town.
But Rufio is a respectable dog who works hard for his money. He lends a helping paw to people as a therapy dog.
We all have places that we love to visit. Rufio loves the pet supply store.
Many pet stores in the United States allow your pets to shop with you. There are so many different parts of a pet store that make it a great time for your pet, we have no doubt that Rufio has a blast when he goes!
The funny dog loves the store so much but he couldn’t really leave. He just didn’t want to!
Rufio had decided that he wasn’t leaving, even if mom was ready to go!
Rufio can be seen in the video laying down, unwilling to move from his spot.
Mom tugs on the leash, and hilariously, he doesn’t move. He just kind of limply slides on the floor.
A few minutes later, he rolls over on his side, further emphasizing that he really doesn’t want to get up. Then he pulls out the puppy dog eyes. Those things are killers!
His owner politely tells him “Time to go, Rufio,” the poor guy doesn’t budge.
A dog in a pet store is like a kid in a candy store. He’s having the best time of his life and you want him to leave!?
The video is beyond cute, and so the owner decided to post it on their Instagram page! With a hilarious caption!

Rufio seems like one of those dogs that makes you laugh and is your best friend all at the same time. Poor guy just wanted five more minutes to enjoy the sights and smells of the pet store.
