They could have walked or driven by each other dozens of times without realizing that they were each other’s true love.

But none of that mattered when Chris Place, 44, finally fell in love with Michelle Tooby, 42, after meeting on the Nextdoor App.

The two began conversing on the app and met in person to go on a date.

Their first date was filled with commonalities that they shared. They both had kids who went to the same school.

As children, they both played at the same park.

As adults, they hung out at the same bars. And what was even more shocking was the fact that they both lived in Mansfield.

They had both lived in Mansfield their whole lives. And always within about 10 minutes of each other.

Place and Tooby bonded quickly.

After about seven months, they became an official item. Now they spend half of their week together.

“We’ve crossed paths no end of times since we were very young. It’s like it just wasn’t meant to happen until now. It was the last thing I expected,” Place said.

Place said that there was something about her face that he was enamored with.

But he says this allure comes from within.

“She’s a very kind person and you can see that in her face,” he said.

Tooby said she was surprised to have found love when she and her beau weren’t looking and had given up on the idea.

“It’s so different from the way I’ve felt about someone before. It’s just meant to be, and it’s the right time now. It’s like our relationship waited for the right moment,” she said.

Place says their relationship gets better and better every day.

Though there hasn’t been a proposal, they say they are thinking about their future together.

While this couple may have been lucky in love, not everyone feels that Nextdoor should be used as a dating app.

The makers of Nextdoor insist that it isn’t a dating app.

“While we hope that Nextdoor can be a way for neighbors with shared interests to meet, it is not meant to be a dating service. We would encourage neighbors who want to meet others with shared interests to post about their interests or start a group and invite others who would like to join,” the makers told 9News.

You should be cautious when posting on the app and think before posting information with personal data.

Especially your phone number or home address.

This is because the Nextdoor app can leave you vulnerable to scams, hacking, and identity theft.

You also don’t want to share pictures of your home, car, debit card, or other personal things.

It’s also important to be wary of recommendations. They might be fake and posted by bots, so you’ll have to use your better judgment.

Always pay for items in person and be aware of private messages, as this is how hackers and scammers reach out to their victims.

If you suspect a scam or something isn’t right, Google the issue to see if it’s a common occurrence or something to be concerned about.
