We love them to bits but hate them at the same time. They are our best friends and also our enemies since the day they were born. You know who I am talking about and you probably are thinking about them right now.

Our siblings are the best people to share our secrets and dreams with because they know all about who we are. They are family and they love us no matter what. There can be troubles and fights along the way, but that’s what having a sibling is all about. From the moment we have siblings, which can be from the day we were born, sharing is always a lesson that parents teach and remind us of.

Having siblings is a blessing.

Okay, they can be a nuisance as well, but living with someone who shares laughter, sorrow, and dreams with you is definitely a major plus about having a sister or a brother or both. They may not always tell you how much you mean to them, but they are always by your side cheering you on.

The love between siblings is a stronger bond because aside from being friends, they are literally family, too. And they always have your back in times of need.

One college basketball player has proven that the love of a brother for his sister is so much more.

Anthony Leal is a student at Indiana University who is taking up a major in business and plays as a point guard for the Indiana Hoosiers. He is one smart and athletic young man who wants nothing but the best for his family, and that includes his older sister, Lauren.

When he discovered that his sister had a huge amount of student loans to pay off, he thought of utilizing the benefits he got from being a basketball player. In 2021, NCAA allowed student-athletes like Anthony to earn money from endorsements thru their autograph signing, ad campaigns, monetization from social media and teaching lessons, and in camps.

This opportunity to earn money was a way for Anthony to save up and be able to pay for Lauren’s student loans after two years.

On Christmas Day, Anthony prepared to surprise his sister with the best gift for her. He waited for this special day to let her know that he had the money she needed to pay off her loans and this incredible news made the young woman cry.

The amount of money she owed for her schooling reached about five figures and it would take a lot of time for her to pay for all of that. She was stunned to know that her brother has already got it covered.

The emotional moment was captured on camera and was shared by Anthony on Twitter.

Their mother and grandmother were also moved to tears upon discovering what Anthony did for his sister. Meanwhile, their father was in on the secret and knew it all along.

“I’m on scholarships so I don’t necessarily need the money, so I decided to try to use that to help my sister,” Anthony said. “It was nice to just be able to take that burden off her shoulders.”
