Sometimes you stumble across an up-and-coming talent on YouTube that just blows you away, as is the case with six-year-old Claire Crosby.
Once we saw the video of Claire on her family’s YouTube channel performing the Elvis Presley song “Can’t Help Falling In Love” on ukulele, we knew we had to share it.
Six is the age when a lot of kids start getting into games activities that require coordination. However, while most kids Claire’s age were busy throwing balls around, jumping rope, or climbing on things, she decided to take a different path. Her family bought her a ukulele, and in no time at all, she learned to play it like a complete pro.
Although the chords in the Elvis Presley track are fairly simple, it is still quite an accomplishment for a young girl of her age and size to play it in its entirety. Especially when you consider the fact that the ukulele is practically bigger than she is.
However, the most magical part is when she begins to sing along as well.
That’s when we realized how much star potential this girl has.
Consider the fact that singing and playing an instrument at the same time is no easy task, even for accomplished adult musicians, yet Claire never misses a beat.
It’s like she’s been doing this her whole life. Her voice is actually quite outstanding for a six-year-old too, and she remains in pitch pretty much the whole time. At the very least, she sings better than most people we know.
Another amazing thing we liked about the video was her bubbly personality.
It’s easy to come across as nervous or awkward when recording yourself on camera performing music or doing anything really. However, not Claire!
Claire loves sharing her talent with her YouTube fans and did a great job reciting her introduction that she had obviously rehearsed many hundreds of times before in her bedroom in front of the mirror.
We’re also quite impressed that she remembered to thank all her fans for watching at the end of the video.
With almost 8 million views and over 500,000 likes on YouTube, the stats don’t lie.
Claire Crosby is something special and it would not be shocking at all if we one day see her on TV. Her adorable confidence combined with her blossoming musical ability is the perfect combination of cuteness and talent.
As long as she keeps working on that strong little voice of hers, we’re sure this won’t be the last we’ll see of Claire.
In addition, her family’s YouTube channel has a whole range of other videos too. With 1.7 million followers, there’s no doubt the young starlet has already received plenty of industry interest.
Hopefully with her videos she can inspire some other kids out there to pick up instruments and start playing as well.
They say that musical instruction is one of the best things children can partake in. According to studies, it is very good for the developing mind and kids who play instruments brains’ develop faster than those who don’t.
If watching Claire is any indication, we’re inclined to believe it. If more people start taking up music like her, it’s likely the world of the future could end up being a very bright place.
