Even though more and more people are opting for inexpensive, DIY, and minimalist weddings – there are some people who still want to go all out.

And for those that are wanting to have a wedding full of glitz and glamour, the price tag can rise quickly! One woman came across a Facebook post from a bride that raised over $30,000 from friends and family for her wedding – there was just one problem – it had to be rescheduled.

After raising an amount of money that is many people’s yearly salary, you’d think that the bride would offer to give the money back if the wedding wasn’t going to happen as planned. Or – save it for the rescheduled wedding, right? Not this woman!

Instead of using the money toward what it was actually for – the bride announced that she’d be spending it on a honeymoon and to “regain financial stability.”

The Reddit user who discovered the initial post shared screenshots of the appalling post and the comments from friends and family that ensued.

“Hi invitees,”

“After much reflection and tear filled conversation with our closest family members, we have decided to cancel our upcoming winter wedding. We will further notify this group when we are in a better place to reschedule.”

At first…the post sounds completely reasonable, right? Until she starts to further explain where the money will go.

“We thank each and every one of you for your generous early donations to our money fund. Can you believe we have raised over $30,000??? Unbelievable!!! Don’t worry, the money you’ve donated will not be spent in vain but rather used towards a honeymoon in the coming months.”

“After we regain financial stability and hold calm in our hearts after a honeymoon we will announce a new wedding date and re open our money fund for further gifts. Weddings are expensive!”

Are you scratching your head yet? Because we are! Who takes a honeymoon before the wedding? With money that isn’t even yours?

The ridiculous audacity of the post doesn’t stop here though. Oh, no. In fact, it gets worse! The bride decides that it would be a good idea to ask family and friends for even more money and gifts!

“We are blessed to have generous family members who gave us these large donations. It will help offset honeymoon costs and to scale to an even better future wedding. We really couldn’t have made it this far without you.”

“Please, stay tuned” In the meantime, i’ll be updating our gift fund registry on Amazon if anyone would like to gift us something to take on a honeymoon.”

Somehow, the bride stays confident enough to think that these people will actually want to attend her wedding when it finally happens.

The insane post concludes with:

“As mentioned, we will keep you updated when we are re opening our money fund and have a new wedding date in the works. Don’t be too sad, the new wedding is going to be a HIT.”

To no one’s surprise whatsoever, the comments from friends and family started rolling in.

People were understandably upset about the bride’s selfish decision. However, she decided to stand by her actions.

“All, please calm down,” she wrote. You’re making me feel very attacked and hanged up on. You chose to DONATE to ME. If I want to use the money, who cares how? I told you the wedding is getting rescheduled not cancelled.”

Would you still go to this bride’s future wedding despite the fact that she used your money for a honeymoon? Yikes!
