Randy and Alicia Atkins shared a moment–and a photo–that most parents will not be able to say they have experienced.

While Alicia was giving birth to their daughter via C-section, her husband Randy Atkins was told by one of the doctor’s that their daughter was grabbing onto his finger. Randy quickly ran over to see for himself and took a picture that soon went viral.

“The doctor called me over and said, ‘Hey, she’s grabbing my finger.’ So I ran over there and just grabbed the shot and I was just in awe looking at it. It was such an amazing picture,” said Randy Atkins.

The Atkins named their daughter Nevaeh, which is Heaven spelled backward. The hospital staff told the Atkins that there’s something almost spiritual about the picture of Nevaeh holding the doctor’s finger before actually being born.

“It was all the doctor could talk about for weeks,” Alicia said of her doctor, who has a canvas print of the photo.

The photo gained over 1000 likes on Facebook and Alicia even got a few offers of organizations who wanted to buy the picture.
