Most animals, particularly those that live in the wild, are quite comfortable living by themselves. They are perfectly fine with just being around animals of their kind.
On the other hand, there are animals that look for more affection. These animals are the ones that are likely to be unexpected visitors to people’s properties. They show up unannounced and leave as soon as they’re able to give their greetings.
From squirrels dropping by to cool off to raccoons looking for temporary shelter, the photos below show the cutest animals giving their humans their warmest greetings.
1. Unlikely Friends
Every morning, a friendly deer comes into the yard to greet its favorite cat. The two of them are best friends. They love playing together.
The doorbell at this house kept ringing, but every time they went to check to see who it was, there was no one at the door. It turns out, it was a little lizard ringing the bell. He just wanted some attention.
A few weeks ago, the family saw a stray kitten outside their home and decided to give it some food. It might have been a mistake. Every day now, more and more of them keep showing up.
Here is another raccoon who has made himself at home. The family walked out the front door to find him relaxing on one of their chairs. He wasn’t startled to see them at all.
Normally, wild animals are pretty skittish. However, not this raccoon. He has made himself right at home on the family’s porch and stops by all of the time now.
What would you do if a random kitten showed up at your house one day unannounced? This family decided to adopt him. They didn’t know where he came from, but it didn’t matter. They instantly fell in love.
The family moved into their new house and wouldn’t you know it, some of the neighbors came by to welcome them to the area. The two of them were checking out who the new occupants of the home were.
“This little guy jumped onto our boat strolled into the cabin and made himself at home on the couch,” explains the man. They were out on sailing around and the friendly seal simply hopped on board.
This person left their car door open for a minute while they went inside. When they came back out, there were two deer fawns hanging out in the front seat. They figured they could hitch a ride.
It must be pretty hot outside. This squirrel laid down on top of the bowl of ice and completely passed out. It is finally getting some relief from the blazing hot weather.
This man accidentally left the window open to his truck. When he went back in the next day, there was an owl waiting for him. It jumped onto his arm and used it as a perch.
If you live in Arkansas, seeing raccoons is a pretty regular occurrence. If you turn on your porch light at night, don’t be surprised if you find one of them lounging around. They are not afraid of humans at all.
It’s always sad when puppy’s get lost. This one showed up randomly at a home in the neighborhood looking for help. She was scared, dirty, and tired of being alone.
It seems like foxes love having fun with tennis balls just as much as dogs do. The fox found the ball in the yard and was caught on the person’s security camera playing with it. Foxes are very spirited animals.
At this house, a big buck started coming to visit the dog and cat. The owners got him his own bed so all three of the animals could lay together on the porch and relax. They are one big happy family now.
When the man noticed that a little toad kept hopping onto his porch, he decided to start making hats for the reptile. This is one of our favorites. The pink top hat and monocle look fantastic on the toad.
Some cats have no regard for the rules of regular society. This one jumped into the car and wouldn’t leave the driver alone. It wanted to go for a ride with him.
This man didn’t own a cat or want a cat. However, the cat showed up at the door one day and the two of them bonded immediately. The cat latched on and wouldn’t let go.
Both of these cuties were born in the person’s yard in the spring. Now, several seasons later and they still come to visit their birthplace quite often. It was their first home.
Baby animals are some of the most common visitors to homes. They don’t yet have all of the inhibitions that the adult animals do. They are extra friendly.
When this person opened their door in the morning to head to work, there was a baby raccoon sitting on the ledge. It wanted some love. They picked him up and named him Bandito.
“Every morning my grandmother feeds this squirrel a peanut, so every morning it shows up at her door. This was him today,” the grandkid explains. The squirrel has become very accustomed to its daily treat.

One duck showing up on the deck is a fun surprise, but how about dozens of them. That’s what happened at this home after they fed one. The next day, all of the others arrived.

There is a swimming pool in this family’s backyard. One day, they found a little turtle swimming around in it. It was enjoying the beautiful summer weather.

Baby foxes are super cute. It’s always a pleasant surprise when they come to say hello. Let’s just hope that the mother doesn’t see this picture though. We imagine that she would be very upset to see someone else taking care of her baby.
