Andrea Bocelli has one of the most beautiful and powerful voices the world has ever heard. The famous Italian tenor artist has become a household name around the world, touching the hearts of many with his songs.

Similarly, COVID-19 has also become a household name moving around the world making each of us adapt to how we live day-to-day. For artists, the pandemic has pushed them to find new ways to connect with their fans and provide a little hope with their music in whatever means they can.

Just as many other artists did Bocelli decided to start doing live stream performances and for his most recent stream in December of 2020, he decided to have a very special guest join him on stage, his 8-year-old daughter.

This father-daughter duo took the stage to sing a very special duet for an audience of only candles.

With a voice like Andrea Bocelli’s, we could all only hope that he would pass along his gift to his children, and from this video, it is clear his daughter Virginia certainly has a beautiful voice just like her dad. The two decided to take the stage at Teatro Regio di Parma opera house in Italy with candles for an audience to sing “Hallelujah” to spread a little happiness this holiday season.

For this live stream, Bocelli wanted to create something exceptional for his fans to celebrate the holiday season and the upcoming release of his new album.

For these live stream events, Bocelli decided to work with creative director Franco Dragone who is best known for his work with Cirque Du Soleil. Since these live streams were specific to the holiday season and since Bocelli is releasing an album called Believe they chose to call the event “Believe in Christmas“.

Bocelli tells EXPRESS UK a little bit about his latest album stating,

“This is an album I hold very dear to my heart. The fruit of a long internal journey even more so than an external, artistic one. It’s a project with a purpose to put into words the musical dimension of spirituality by offering music that – at least for our intentions – can bring peace and harmony to those who listen to it.”

Sitting side by side at the front of the stage, Virginia and her father slowly begin their duet.

As the video starts we see Virginia grab her father’s guitar to meet him and a complete orchestra out on stage. Then they take a seat on the stage floor and begin to harmonize the first notes of their charming duet of “Hallelujah“.

Dragone used a multi-camera set to make this live stream as intimate as possible for the fans who paid to view.

As we continue to watch the video we get to see just how special Franco Dragone directed this video to be…which he only had one opportunity to do so. Since the event was a one-time-only live stream event Dragone decided it was best to use a multi-camera set up in order to take this performance to the next level as the virtual audience purchased tickets.

But there’s more than just an orchestra and candles in the audience one person got a VIP pass to appreciate the beautiful melodies of Bocelli and his daughter.

Besides the audience of candles, there were other special guests admiring the beautiful father-daughter duet.

From above, Andrea’s wife and Virginia’s mother Veronica watched lovingly.

Although these live streams may seem so small they provide many with a moment of stillness and a glimmer of hope as our times have not gotten any easier.

With voices as delicate and soul touching as Bocelli and his daughter, it is truly a gift that provides hope when times are tough.

As far as 2020 goes times have been difficult and it hasn’t stopped just because we’ve reached a new year but it is little things such as this that take our minds off the tough times even just for a moment. Healing our souls if only momentarily helping us get through to the next day.

We can’t help but to be grateful to all the artists, essential workers, and one another for all each of us is doing to help one another simply make it through the next day.
