Celebrities live a life of fame and are always under the spotlight. Even if they don’t want to be, the public is always watching their every move. Their stories always make the news whether they do something good or bad. And when they do something bad, you can expect that people will not only watch out for how their story unfolds but they’ll also be on the lookout for their mug shots!

Celebrity mug shots are quite intriguing because they make us realize that these famous people are human, too. They too commit mistakes and get arrested from time to time, despite being in Hollywood. 1. Martin Luther King Jr.

In 1956, Martin Luther King Jr. was arrested in Alabama when he joined bus boycotts that protested bus segregation. King was the youngest man to ever get the Nobel prize.

2. Jay-Z

Jay-Z was arrested in 1999 in New York City for allegedly stabbing record producer Lance “Un” Rivera. They were at New York’s Kit Kat Club when the reported stabbing incident happened. Jay-Z was eventually charged with felony assault and faced 15 years of imprisonment. Later on, his guilty plea led to a reduction in his sentence to three years of probation because his previous felony assault was marked down as misdemeanor assault.

3. Michelle Rodriguez

Michelle Rodriguez served a six-month sentence in 2007 at the Los Angeles County Jail as a result of the consecutive violation of her probation terms. She was previously charged with a hit and run and drunk driving offenses and was under probation for said charges when she was found to have consumed alcohol while wearing a monitered ankle bracelet.

4. Al Pacino

In 1961, Alfred James Pacino, popularly known as Al Pacino, was arrested in Woonsocket, Rhode Island for possession of a concealed weapon. Along with two of his friends, Pacino drove in circles around the same neighborhood while wearing dark masks. Police pulled them over and found that they had a loaded gun and were made to spend three days in jail.

5. Joshua Jackson

Dawson’s Creek star Joshua Jackson was 24 when he got arrested for assaulting a security guard at a Carolina Hurricanes hockey game. His blood alcohol was 0.14 at the time.

6. Woody Harrelson

When he was 21, Woody Harrelson was arrested for disturbing the peace in Columbus, Ohio. The True Detective star was drunk and would not stop dancing in the middle of the busy road, so the cops went after him.

7. Cher

As it turns out, even superstars like Cher have their episodes against law enforcement. The music icon was only 13 years old when she was arrested for “borrowing” a friend’s car and driving it without a license.

8. Bruno Mars

Pete Gene Hernandez, also known as Bruno Mars, was arrested in a bathroom at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino way back in 2010. He was charged with felony cocaine possession to which he plead guilty afterward. His charges were eventually dismissed when he paid a $2,000 fine, did 8 hours of drug counseling, and 200 hours of community service.

9. Christian Slater

Mr. Robot actor Christian Slater is no stranger to being reprimanded by law enforcement. In 1994, he was arrested for criminal possession of a weapon while he was at the JFK airport. He had a gun in his luggage, and the scanners got an image of his weapon. As part of his plea deal, Slater agreed to work with homeless children for three days.

10. Bill Gates

Bill gates got arrested in 1977 in Albuquerque for running a stop sign and driving without a license. The following year, he transferred his start-up company to Seattle and received three more speeding tickets while driving his Porsche 911.

11. David Bowie

David Robert Jones, aka David Bowie, was once arrested for possession of marijuana after his performance at the Community War Memorial in Rochester, New York. The English rock star was found to have 6 ounces of marijuana in his hotel room and spent a night in jail as a consequence.

Eminem has always had a bad boy image. He was arrested for pistol-whipping a man whom he suspected of kissing his wife, Kim Mathers, while they were outside the Hard Rock Sports Bar in Michigan. 14. Keanu Reeves

Keanu Reeves may be the superhero type but he also had his own brushes with the police. In 1993, he was arrested in Los Angeles, California for driving under the influence. He admitted to the charge later on.

Apart from being arrested in 2016 for felony possession of ecstasy at an airport in Texas, this model and businesswoman also had controversies relating to domestic disputes and sex videos.

20. 2pac

2pac, or Tupac Amaru Shakul in real life, was arrested along with three of his friends for sexually assaulting a 19-year-old woman they met at a New York nightclub. He was initially sentenced to 4 and a half years in prison, but he ended up serving for only nine months after receiving an early release. The rap star was killed in 1996 and his murder story remains unsolved today.

21. Justin Bieber

Justin Bieber, along with a singer named Khalil, were arrested in 2014 in Miami, Florida after allegedly drag-racing, resisting arrest and driving under the influence of alcohol and marijuana. The charges against the singer were eventually reduced as a result of his guilty plea.

22. James Brown

James Brown, popularly known as “Godfather of the Soul”, was arrested in 2004 for charges of domestic violence directed to his 33-year-old wife, Tommie Rae Brown. Brown plead to not contest and paid a fine.

This Teen Mom star was arrested after striking Gary Shirley, her boyfriend at the time. She made a deal to finish rehab and earn her GED rather than go to prison. She eventually backed out on said deal and ended up serving 17 months out of the five years she was sentenced to spend behind bars.

24. Snooki

We all saw Snooki when she got arrested for public drunkenness in the third season of Jersey Shore. After a night in jail, a $500 fine and community service, Snooki finally got cleared from her charges. Her hard partying can be seen as the culprit for the star’s drinking issues.

After being caught in the act of possessing Ampethamine, Mick Jagger got arrested in Sussex, England in the year 1967. he was initially convicted along with Keith Richards but an appeal made by them overturned the initial charges.

The whole group was requested to pay a fine amounting to $4,000 and was charged with disorderly conduct.

31. Dustin Diamond

Dustin Diamond, a star from the show Saved by the Bell, was arrested in 2015 after allegedly stabbing another person at a bar in Wisconsin. His sentence was a total of four months but he only served three.

In 1993, Snoop Dogg decided to turn himself in to face murder charges against him related to the shooting of Philip Woldemarian in Los Angeles, California. He was eventually acquitted and got rid of all his charges.

34. Terrence Howard

Terrence Howard was accused of assaulting a flight attendant while he was in mid-flight inside a Continental Airlines aircraft in 2000. He was immediately arrested once the plane landed in Cleveland, Ohio. Due to a lack of jurisdiction, the charges against the Empire actor were dropped.

35. Shailene Woodley

Shailene Woodley may look sweet and nice, but don’t be too sure about this girl. She can be tough, too, especially if she has a cause that she truly believes in. In 2016, the Divergent star was arrested after joining a protest against the Dakota Access Pipeline.

It’s never a good decision to side-swipe an official police car just because you wanted to. The She’s the Man star agreed to a plea deal and was sentenced to three years in probation.

In 1971, 38-year-old Larry King was charged of grand larceny and was arrested in Miami. It turned out that the now CNN journalist failed to pay back money that he owed to a financier and passed bad checks. The case was eventually dismissed after the statute of limitations prescribed.

39. Macaulay Caulkin

We remember young Macaulay Caulkin for her adorable acting skills in the Home Alone series. However, when he grew older, he was known to have a few run-ins with law enforcement due to possession of marijuana. He served three one year deferred sentences and paid a fine of $540.

Tracey Gold from Growing Pains somehow forgot how to be a responsible mother when she drove their family vehicle under the influence leading to an accident that almost cost her family’s life. Although there were no major injuries, one of her sons sustained a broken clavicle.

41. Mama June

Mama June is all about transformation now, but before her fitness goals, this mother had her own run-in with the police. Apparently, she was accused of not being able to make child support payments to her mother, Sandra Hale, who was the legal guardian to Anna Shannon, her daughter. The charges were dropped within the same day.

42. Haley Joel Osment

Who could ever forget Haley Joel Osment? He’s that boy who starred in A.I. and Pay It Forward. Seeing his innocent face just makes you want to hug him, right? However, when he became an adult, we saw that the once innocent faced boy can actually break rules when he drove under the influence and ended up crashing his car in LA. He was safely brought to the hospital and briefly stayed there before heading to jail for his mug shot.

43. Vince Vaughn

Vince Vaughn was arrested in 2001 after getting into a bar brawl in North Carolina. He was filming Domestic Disturbance at that time and was with actor Steve Buscemi, who got stabed multiple times in that fight.

44. Armie Hammer

Sadly, even heartthrob Armie Hammer has his own history of run-in with the law. He admitted that he was arrested in 2011 in a traffic stop in Texas after being caught with three pot brownies and cookies.

R. Kelly was formally accused of 21 counts of child pornography after a video got leaked online showing him having sex with a minor. The trial for his case took six long years before he was eventually cleared of all charges.

49. Chace Crawford

Chace Crawford was much loved in his character as Nate Archibald in Gossip Girl and a lot of fans were shocked when he was arrested in 2010 for possession of marijuana in Texas. He was supposed to serve six months in jail but he cut a deal to lessen the punishment to community service and probation.
