They say money is the root of all evil and that it can’t buy you happiness.

But it sure does help! Who could disagree! After all, capitalism is the driving force behind our national economy and has allowed the United States to thrive for many decades. Having more than enough spare change is a luxury some of us are very fortunate to have.

It becomes even more obvious how ridiculous money can be once you start seeing your wealth accumulate. For most, a million dollars is a milestone that makes a huge statement and impact in one’s life. The trick is knowing how to manage it.

Right now, the average housing price in America goes for about $200,000. Not bad when you start to compare prices to places like Manhattan, which has recently announced that a single room luxury apartment can cost up to. That’s crazy considering how much space there is in an entire house versus a small apartment.

New York, New York. A city so nice, it had to be named twice.

We bring you to the corner of Merry Hill and Midtown where we find our luxury apartment ready for viewing. This neighborhood in particular is one of the more affordable ones in the city of Manhattan. Our tour guide, Erik Conover, will be showing us the property on behalf of Best Buy’s sponsorship of the video.

Since the apartment was built in the 1920s, it has no elevator in the building as most buildings from that era were constructed without one. Luckily for Conover, the apartment is located at the top floor. Happy climbing!

Upon arrival, you are welcomed by the sight of traditional, open room space adorned with classic red bricks for walls. The apartment is easy to walk around in and definitely makes you feel cozy during a cold winter day. You definitely are enriched by the New York City aura as soon as you step inside.

The kitchen is located right by the entrance and has been recently renovated. It has great size and was recently gut renovated. It’s equipped with brand new stainless steel appliances with a built-in dishwasher.

The living room and dining room take up the majority of the space in the first floor of the living space. The furniture does a great job of layering out specific parts of the living room since it is so open and easy to manage. The total square footage of the floor is about 500 square feet and does a fantastic job of being efficient with space.

In addition, the spiral staircase is a great way to climb up to the second floor to enjoy privacy in the 300 square foot master bedroom. Very few apartments include a second floor to add more space to the apartment, so this is definitely a luxury.

The secret weapon of the apartment is not what’s inside, but what is on the outside that makes it shine. The apartment comes equipped with not one, but two rooftop decks! Not many people in New York city can be exposed to an outdoor view, let alone a rooftop with a marvelous view of the city.

Well, there you have it!

A million dollars could buy you the world anywhere else except in Manhattan. You do enjoy a few luxuries, but is it really worth spending all that money for? Before this tour, I would’ve said no, but after marveling at such an awesome apartment, it may not be such a bad idea after all.
