Monica Taylor was leaving the Royal Melbourne Show in Australia when she noticed a photo getting trampled on the ground. After realizing it was a photo of a stillborn baby, she knew she had to try and find the owner.

It turns out; the photograph was the only photo of a mother’s stillborn daughter before having to kiss her goodbye forever. It was somebody’s angel. Taylor grabbed the picture and immediately went to work trying to track down its owner.

This photo hit close to home for Taylor because, she too, has a similar picture of her stillborn son. She knew that the owner of the photo held it near and dear to their hearts.

‘Having personally lost a child you can tell what you are looking at. I was gobsmacked and dived straight for it,’ she told Daily Mail Australia.

‘I got home and pretty much just gawked at it. ”This is someone’s baby,” I thought. I was hoping like goodness I could find who it belonged to.’

After posting the photo on Facebook, which has since been removed, it was shared thousands of times. In a stroke of luck — the woman who owned the photo saw her Facebook post. She couldn’t believe it.

‘”She ended up ringing me. She was absolutely elated I had found it and arranged to pick it up the next day.”

It turns out that the woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, had lost her daughter in 2008. She usually keeps the photo in her jacket pocket — close to her heart. When she took off her jacket that day — it fell right out.

When Taylor returned the photo to its rightful owner, the woman placed the photo right back in the pocket near her heart where she normally keeps it.

The woman gave Taylor a bouquet of flowers, and they found out some more similarities that day. Taylor says that she has given birth to a healthy boy since the loss of her son and the woman has also given birth to a healthy daughter. It almost seems like fate brought these two special women together that day.

“She kept telling me how she could never repay me for what I had done to get the photo back to her,” Taylor said. “But for me, it was reward enough knowing she didn’t have to go another day without seeing her lost daughter.’

One Facebook user had offered to re-touch the photo for the woman, however, declined; she was just so grateful to have it back.
