The Nashville Predators may be one of the NHL’s best hockey teams this year, but it was a musical performance that stole the show during one of their home games earlier this month.
Nashville is known as Music City, so it should come as no surprise that many of the team’s fans are famous musicians.
Carrie Underwood–who is married to Mike Fisher, a player on the Predators–and other country stars are often seen rooting on their team at home games. Luke Bryan and Hunter Hayes are both die-hard fans. Along with Underwood and famous country band Little Big Town, Bryan has also performed “The Star-Spangled Banner” at the Predators’ home games.
The most recent country star to perform was Vince Gill.
Gill is a country music legend. He’s been in the business since the 70’s and was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame back in 2007.
His performance at the game wasn’t a solo act though. Gill’s two daughters, Jenny and Corrina, joined him to perform a beautiful rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner.”
Fans had shown up that night for the Stanley Cup playoff game, but few of them knew that they would be treated to an amazing performance by a country music legend. Based on their cheers and the standing ovation, it’s safe to say that they were pretty pleased with the whole thing!
And how couldn’t they have been? Jenny and Corinna’s talent sure gave their dad a run for his money. They’re no doubt a very talented family!
Gill’s daughters weren’t the only ones to join him out on the ice. After their powerful performance, professional golfer Brandt Snedeker, who is also a Nashville native and die-hard Predators fan, came out on the ice to help hype up the crowd.
Here is a photo of Snedeker and Gill smiling after the performance.
