You may recall Susan Boyle when she captured the hearts of millions during her Britain’s Got Talent audition.

In case you need a refresher, or would like to be reminded of that powerful moment, allow me to refresh your memory.

On Saturday, April 11th, 2009, Susan Boyle gave a performance that blew even Simon Cowell away.

The 47-year-old unemployed woman entered the competition in the hopes of becoming a professional singer.

Her performance, which has been viewed over 200 million times on YouTube since then, is a beautiful reminder to never judge a book by its cover.

Susan Boyle entered that competition with nothing to lose and everything to gain. And that’s exactly what she did.

Even though Susan didn’t end up winning Britain’s Got Talent (she placed second in the final, with the winner being a dance troupe named Diversity), her career was just getting started.

Susan’s debut album, I Dreamed a Dream, became the United Kingdom’s best-selling debut album of all time (and still holds that record). Her latest studio album, A Wonderful World, was released in 2016.

Today, Susan Boyle lives quietly but comfortably, boasting a net worth of £26 million (or roughly $33 million).

Susan’s music is timeless, and we wanted to show you another one of her angelic pieces.

This time, Susan will be performing “Unchained Melody”, a classic tune from the 1950s made famous by the Righteous Brothers.

Now, rarely are covers of songs better than the original, but many long-time Righteous Brothers fans agree that Susan owns the song in her own way, the way only her unique talent can.

The orchestral accompaniment to the song is just that – a beautiful accompaniment to Susan’s powerful lead vocals (especially the moment at 3:04).

I love when singers hit high notes, and Susan does so effortlessly!

Susan’s voice possesses the unique ability to be both honest and youthful, yet also mature and elegant. The latter, in my opinion, enables her to take command of such a classic song and make it her own.

The video also shows Susan’s skill in her craft. She knows precisely when to relax her voice and when to enunciate it during the song. She also breathes calmly between verses and phrases, further demonstrating her mastery of her vocals.

I can go on and on about Susan’s talent, but I think you should see it for yourself. Let me know what you think of her performance in the comments below!
