We all know what it’s like to have a day when it seems like nothing is going right. TunDe Hector was having one of those days.

She ran out of gas while driving, meaning she was stranded on the side of the road and it was pouring rain outside. All TunDe could do was start walking.

The Georgia resident only had $5 in her purse as she headed down the road, through the rain, in search of a gas station. Fortunately, that’s when a warm-hearted stranger came to her rescue.

Chris Wright was in the car with his family when he noticed TunDe walking.

Feeling like he needed to help the woman, Chris decided to drop his family off at church and turn around. CBS News reported that he then offered TunDe a lift, put fuel in her gas can, and passed her all of the money that was in his wallet.

It was an act of kindness that TunDe would never forget. However, she didn’t expect that they’d cross paths again.

Several years later, Chris’ mom, Judy, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. Since her health was quickly declining, the family hired nurse aides so she’d be well-cared for.

While all the aides took great care of Judy, there was one that stood out to the ill woman. Her name was TunDe Hector.

Chris had no clue that the stranger he helped years before was caring for his mother.

TunDe’s warmth and compassion stood out to Judy and her husband, and they even learned that she dreamed of becoming a nurse.

The family, including Chris, was introduced to the kind-hearted nurse’s aide. However, the two didn’t recognize each other at first.

Then one day while TunDe was working, she shared a story from her past. It was about the day a stranger helped her on the side of the road.

According to CBS News, Chris was stunned listening to the story and revealed, “That was me.” It was an incredible realization for all of them.

Chris’ wife, Carmen, said:

“The encounter that had blessed them both three years ago, came full-circle. We don’t believe in coincidence. We’re a family of faith.”

Judy sadly passed away a couple of weeks later. Soon after, another beautiful act took place.

Because of TunDe’s love and dedication, the family decided to set up a college fund for her – requesting that people donate to it instead of sending flowers. She had no clue what the Wrights had done.

The Wright’s started a YouCaring page for TunDe to help pay for nursing school.

While they had a goal of reaching $1,000, they surpassed it in less than an hour. Eventually, the fund was up to almost $20,000!

One day, they invited TunDe over to surprise her with the life-changing news.
