Impromptu Piano Duets In The Street
I can't believe this was totally improvised on the spot!

In many crowded places around the entire world, you’ll often find a public piano that can be played on. Perhaps the best example of this are the public pianos placed in railway and metro stations, such as the openly public piano in Paris for example.

Dotan Negrin is a YouTuber who runs the channel ‘Piano Around the World’ with almost 100,000 subscribers. The internet host and entrepreneur has a true passion for music but especially adores when he’s able to share music with people he randomly meets.

Dotan shares his love for the piano by bringing one with him almost everywhere he goes.

“When you learn the language of Music you can speak it freely with others. Music has helped me connect with thousands of people around the world, even if they don’t speak your native tongue”, Dotan wrote on his blog.

Dotan even recently quit his job in order to focus his efforts on Piano Around The World and has stated that he will travel the world for five years, alongside his trusty piano.

The mindset that Dotan has is that music allows him to connect with hundreds of people that he would otherwise would never even meet. Over the past years, Dotan has met dozens of people who were more than happy to jump in and help Dotan with his piano performance, including this duet that was captured in Paris with a random bystander.

Dotan just simply traveled with his piano and decided to set it up right in the middle of a crowded spot in the lovely Parisian streets.

“This was completely Spontaneous! I was playing piano on the street when this man came up to me and ask to join me. Such a good time!”

“I found out that this man is named Frans Bak and he is a film composer from Denmark.”

In a video that he posted on his YouTube channel, he’s seen performing on the sidewalk when a man suddenly becomes quite interested in his music. Moments later, the man reaches for the piano and jams a couple of jazzy tunes that blend in nicely with Dotan’s melody.

It doesn’t take long before the two sit down together for a duet that was sure to grasp the attention of nearby pedestrians. The two even gathered a small audience as the people from Paris could witness firsthand that music truly is a universal language that can connect with anyone.

Of course, this random encounter with Frans Zak wasn’t the only surprising duet that Dotan was able to capture. Check out some great videos of spontaneous duets below, which involves making people in the streets of New York City dance and another video where a beautiful talented young woman joins Dotan’s piano performance with a violin.

As Dotan himself always says: “Live an extraordinary life!”
