Marcelino Pomoy Sings "The Prayer" by Andrea Bocelli
It is hard enough to maintain vocal control in one pitch range. Marcelino can do it in two. Make sure you pay attention to when his voice changes 90 seconds into the song.

As Marcelino Pomoy leaned into his microphone and took a breath, he prepared himself to sing an amazing song. But you’ll never guess what happened when he opened his mouth and poured out his voice.

In this video, Marcelino Pomoy sings “The Prayer” by Andrea Bocelli. This song originally appeared on Quest for Camelot: Music from the Motion Picture. This song is most well known as a duet between Andrea Bocelli and Celine Dion. You can watch one of their original performances of the song here:

In this performance, Celine and Andrea deliver stunning vocals – Celine in the soprano range and Andrea in the tenor range.

You’ll notice, however, that Marcelino is the only singer in the following performance.

Marcelino began to sing “The Prayer” by Andrea Bocelli in stellar acoustics. He started out with the first part of the song – originally sung by Celine Dion – in perfect pitch! His voice floated easily over the notes. It was hard to believe this beautiful sound was coming from him! It is rare to hear a man that can sing in the vocal range of a woman.

Throughout the introduction, Marcelino kept impressive control over his voice. He commanded a wide range of higher pitched vocals, which is surprising from any man! Then something even more shocking happened.

Most viewers would expect that a recorded voice or another singer would sing the male part of the song. However, this was not the case for this incredible performance.

At the first line of the chorus, Marcelino switched to an extremely low pitch. The contrast was astounding. It is rare enough for a man to be able to sing at a higher pitch. But most singers can only sing in the high or the low – they can’t completely command both. Marcelino shattered all expectations when he demonstrated flawless control of the lower pitches too. The talented singer switched between the two voices over the rest of the song.

Marcelino not only has perfect control over the pitch of his voice, but he also has perfect control over the volume of his voice. He is able to belt the highs and whisper the lows of the song, all while maintaining perfect pitch.

Everyone has their own unique talent, and singing is definitely Marcelino’s. It is unbelievable to watch him alternate between two completely different voices without missing a beat.
