One family had to come up with a quick solution to fighting monsters so their young daughter could finally get a good night’s sleep.

In Vancouver Island, one mother and father had to come up with a resolution to their two-year-old daughters, Mya, fear of the monsters that lay under her bed, in her closet, and even outside in the bushes!

Mya’s fear had taken over her being able to comfortably sleep alone at night.

Her parents, Aaron and Amber, explain to CTV News that Mya’s fear of monsters had gotten so bad that she was lying awake at night and wasn’t able to sleep alone. Her father continues,

“She was always saying there were monsters in her room, there was something here, something there…We have been trying to tell her for a while that they’re trying to be her friends and not to worry.”

An interesting suggestion, however, Mya had no interest in becoming friends with the monsters that lurked in the shadows around her.

So it was time for dad to come up with another way that Mya could have control over and make the monsters go away for good.

So he decided to visit his local pharmacy with hopes of finding a magical monster-fighting potion. The local pharmacist, Dee Vivian, couldn’t be happier to help create an official label for the dad in need.

So what’s in this magical monster spray?

The potion is mostly made up of water and sometime Aaron will put in some lavender to add a calming effect and nice aroma. The bottle has specific instructions on when to spray as well as warning of possible side effects being drowsiness or dizziness.

The magical potion has helped Mya gain the confidence to handle the monsters face to face.

According to Aaron, the magical monster spray has helped Mya gain the courage to face her fears and conquer the scary monsters. He tells CTV,

“She’ll come to me and say, ‘Daddy…monster over there!’, and I’ll say oh yeah, you better go get him,” he says. “(She’ll get) her bottle of monster spray and (go) ‘Choo, choo, choo!’ Then she goes, ‘Don’t worry, Daddy. The monster is gone.”

But this was only the beginning of the monster spray. According to the local pharmacist Dee Vivian there’ve been multiple requests for monster spray. She tells CTV,

“We’ve had a couple request for more…I thought it was cute, and it’s a neat idea. I hope it works.”
