As anyone who’s watched America’s Got Talent knows, there’s no telling what you’ll see when you tune in.

The show debuted in 2006 on NBC has continued through and impressive 12 seasons. Though the content changes from week to week, the show’s format gives contestants a platform to follow their dreams and perform for an audience of millions of people—no matter what their age or talent is. This last week was the season finale of Season 12 and several of the final performances were real standouts.

Still, the world can’t stop talking about adorable ventriloquist Darci Lynne.

Lynne took the stage to perform with her puppets, Oscar and Petunia.

Oscar is an anxious little mouse while Petunia is a hyper-confident rabbit who thinks she’s a diva. She sets up the routine with Oscar thinking the show is only a dress rehearsal‚ Petunia explains that they are actually live in front of 16 million people! At that point, the mouse faints. Still, Petunia is elated—“Do you think the camera is getting my good side?”

Although the audience is charmed, Lynne’s real show hadn’t even begun yet.

After setting up her routine, Lynne explains that they will be singing a famous song.

Lynne convinces them they need to play off of each other like the famous duos of the past, like Laurel and Hardy, Hall and Oates—or even Simon Cowell and Mel B! After they finally come to an agreement, they reveal that they will be singing “With a Little Help from My Friends” by the famous songwriting team of John Lennon and Paul McCartney. Still, Petunia needs the last word:

“That’s funny… a mouse and a bunny singing a song written by two Beatles?”

With that, the band kicks up and Lynne sets into her performance—and the crowd is stunned.

Although the dying art of ventriloquism is admirable to see on its own as performed by 12-year-old Darci Lynne, her performance is much more than that. As the music rolls, she switches easily between the two puppets’ voices, giving Oscar a rocker’s confidence and Petunia a surprisingly delicate and high range! After seeing her talent, we wouldn’t be surprised if she had a future at the Jim Henson company someday in the future.

As the song ends, the entire crowd is on their feet, bursting with applause.

Darci Lynne’s performance is a reminder to follow our dreams.

In the process, she won the hearts of the judges and of millions of spectators all across America. See the clip for yourself below—if you’re like us, you’ll be watching it again and again.
